I gotten into paintball in 2006 (6th Grade) - 2012 (Senior Year HS) but had stopped due to life events (work, military) but now just getting back into this beautiful sport at the ripe age of 29(going on 30). Thank you so much for posting this as I have only been playing recreational speedball during my younger years and now want to really invest into this sport/hobby and really start working my way towards tournament play. BB - I just played my first 3-man and it was a blast! We were a little disorganized at the start and played two games with 2 players because one person didn't manage to chrono in time, and the other couldn't get on the field and tap the start búnker in time. BUT we won all our other games until semi finals when we lost in overtime. Ended up in third place and absolutely loved the experience! I look forward to playing more tournaments, and incorporating these tips! Thanks for the info

Love adding in respect the referee I work at a tournament field as a ref. And you would think people would stay calm when I make a call or see someone wipe especially in division 5 it happens more than you think and we are just trying to do our job.
My first tournament was the recent NXL Europe D3 in France it was a decent experience, there where some weird thing like every division only could take 4pods per person and there wasn't a D1&D2 so a lot of those teams played at d3 or semi-pro. Nevertheless we finished 7 witch was a huge achievement for us to even make Sunday
Yeah the Europe style is a bit different, but I actually like the limited pod format. Congrats on 7th! That's tough when D3 gets stacked with D2 and potentially D1 teams.
Recently I started playing tournament paintball and there is a loop hole for D5 that allows players to continue playing in D5 and dominating in that space. I am not sure entirely how it works but something about letting points scored in tournaments to expire at the end of the season to keep a player at D5 regardless how long they have been playing in D5. This needs to be addressed because there is a motto around Midwest teams "D5 for life" and these players need to be in higher divisions and these teams are ruining the entry level experience for new players.
The difference between minor and major penalties has changed in the past decade. Now with NXL, Now it's Minor for playing on. Like if you get hit, keep rolling your marker. Major penalty would be from you getting hit first and then eliminating another player.

There are pro teams with guys that old you just have to get your body in shape to avoid injury and be more careful about sliding and diving. I believe in you
i have long time playing in rentals, and i want to star playing in tournaments, can i start playing tournaments with gog enmey or spyder xtra or victor, both with a vmax+ or halo too hooper? or is a huge disadvantage
Hey! Excited for you to start getting into tournaments! My suggestion: if you already know this is a sport you’re going to play for a while, invest in a marker that’s at least $500. You can get some really great top of the line used markers at that price. Otherwise, If you’re not sure how long you’re going to stick around, or you just want to play one tournament and relax, then those markers will work just fine.
Ok so I am looking into playing d6 3v3 at my local field but I've never played tournament PB. I plan on just playing with a couple of my friends, do we need to get jerseys to play? Any advice or tips you have would be great. Ive played a lot of pb just hanging out with friends and I have nice equipment, so i want to get into tournaments. Thanks

Yeah man, refs are the lifeblood of the sport. Without them, it would be chaos. Gotta respect the work they do for sure
