Outstanding performance as piano soloist, Alice. Clara would be so proud that you performed her composition so brilliantly along with the conductor and orchestra.
I’m so glad this concerto is finally making its way around Europe. I grew up in the 90’s in the USA, and it was pretty well known to us. Finally getting the renown it deserves in her homeland :) (or at least close to it)
Splendido concerto: sorprendente, coinvolgente!
I really try -- but I just don't get all that Clara S hype--- ok, ok, I totally agree that female composers (or musicians in general) have been - still are often - sidelined , discriminated etc BUT.... that doesn't mean one needs to artificially inflate the artistic value of a piece just because it was written by a woman. Just compare to what was composed at around the same time by others: Liszt, Wagner, Brahms, to name but a few. By contrast, her stuff is- well, conventional. there's no real jaw-dropping novelty here (and, indicatively, she really disliked and didn't understand at all Liszt's B-minor sonata- that kind of says it all). Yep, nice to listen to while driving or shopping as background- not more.
Thanks for your comment! Perhaps it is nice to keep in mind that Clara was a mere teenager when she composed this youthful piece. And, must a work be jaw-dropping in order to be enjoyed? 🙂
Brahms was a toddler while the young man Schumann was in early friendhip with adolescent Clara during the creation of this lovely and precious concerto…

Thank you very much Laura!
You're very welcome Alice. You deserve a standing ovation and then some.
I have heard this lovely Concerto many times but Alise does a great job and full credit to her as well as the orchestra.

It sounds and fills so Chopin, espesially at the end. I see I'm not the only one who thinks that.
9:20 is the part that robert schumann quotes for im wundershoenen monat mai
Clara Schumann is a very very good composer.
Agreed!
I can feel some Chopin's vibes here.
Absolutely!
She goes back to 1835. She play at 16 years old. She was know to be younger than Mozart
Never let say women don't worth to be composer!

HANDS OF LITZ
