Hi Kim, thank you for this tutorial, it’s really helpful. I have one question, the inches of fabric taken out from the main bodies (at the pocket area) to form the welt, won’t it affect the Lenght of the main bodies? Are we suppose to add up that allowance from the intial bodies Lenght ?

This is a great tutorial, my only suggestion is that the pocket opening should be the same size as the flap. So, when you were giving your measurements the pocket flap and opening she have been the same.

When I tried this following your video my pocket keeps coming out upside down and you can still see the raw edge on the right side.. what am I missing or doing wrong? Can someone help please.

Dear Kim, thank you so much for this awesome tutorial. I'm making a jacket for my partner, and I was terrified of sewing welt pockets. The pattern instructions were complicated. Pro tip: make sure you use a fabric with clear front and back.

If the flap is the same width, it will be difficult to turn it inside out. Tried it and it didn’t work
