Unless this is a complete collapse (lose more than 1 in the first half and then lose all the way thru the 2nd half) I don’t think Napier is going anywhere. We’re not happy about the W/L record but we can’t keep burning thru coaches every 3yrs. What coach could we get to replace that would do any better? Napier’s recruiting won’t really pay off until 2025
This honestly seems like the right answer. What I've heard is at the very least they're paying Dan Mullen for one more year, and there's little chance they're going to be wanting to pay for two fired coaches, and a new third coach of the quality the Gators would be looking to get.
If Napier wins 4-6 games and doesn't get blown out, that's probably improvement enough to avoid that situation.
Agreed...Florida is no longer a destination coaching spot because of the revolving door since Urban.
Brothers and sisters, regardless of the record in 2024, we need Napier to have a full 2025 season with Lagway as the leader of the offense or else there’s no point.
I do believe that Lagway staying in Gainseville hinges on Billy Napier being in Gainesville
I agree plus I always thought billy needs atleast 4-5 years because of Mullins horrible job of recruiting and billy can recruit we’ve seen it he’s got the talent on the roster he just needs the talent to execute on the field
@@Thisguy2532 You can't ask for 4-5 years in today's college football
NIL, transfer portal, and CFP going from four teams to 12 (soon to be 14) is going to heighten the level of impatience programs will have for their coaches
You may be right but if he goes 5-7 again or worse, you can't justify him staying
This is college football not high school its about right now today! What you got? Winners? Or losers? We have losers! Sad and harsh truth! When I was in high school on Friday nights, we won or we lost. Nobody was talking about next year! So have a good day!!!
Eight teams on the schedule have a legit shot at a top 10 ranking. Five are likely in the top 5 during the year. Brutal is an understatement.
3 of those TEAMS(Ole miss,Texas,& UGA) ARE PROVEN , FLORIDA HAS ALOT of PRODUCTION COMING BACK & THEY DID WELL IN THE PORTAL & IN RECRUITING YALL DRAGIN IT
Exactly being 6-6 with that schedule imo is still okay cause like you said at any point five of those teams could be top 5-10 when we play them, like honestly who ever made this schedule for us needs an evaluation 😂 not to mention playing Texas in there house is gonna be freakin tough, really hope billy has the boys ready to go
Billy needs to hire an OC that calls the plays, other than that he’s done a great job as CEO of the program. He’s transformed the culture and won repeatedly in recruiting and the transfer portal. If Billy leaves, so does Lagway, McCray, Wilson, etc.
I am a Cane. The Gators schedule is the craziest schedule I can remember. Very tough to judge based on that. 5 or 6 wins and he stays. That is my guess. I know Gators want 7 wins but wow. Good luck (just not on the first game :)
This first games gonna be one for the books for sure
I think you stated it the best regarding the Kentucky game. That will be the defining moment.
People talking crazy but UF has a good shot to be undefeated heading into UGA.
I’d love to see at least 9 wins including a bowl win
You should place a large bet on Florida’s over under of 5.5 wins. Should be easy money lol
That’s real talk
Some advice…don’t bet your house on that.😂 Stick to betting the over/under 51/2.
@@RafLpz ok my friend
The strength of schedule is going to be overrated and UF is going to be better than people expected. 7-8 wins
Kudos to Andy for being real about expectations. Either way, anything less than 11 (including a playoff win) in 25 is a failure.
I'm from the future and you guys definitely didn't get in the playoffs with 4 wins
Imagine Having UCF as 1 of your “easy” games on a schedule NAPtime might as well pack it up 😂💀
Stay tuned clown, gonna change that tune after game one. Get a life why you even on this post if you’re not a gator lmfao 🤡
Man they got to get past the Knights!
Must admit though that is a tough schedule and I'll be rooting for them after all they are homeboys
Gators gonna be fine clownies they have good depth and a returning solid qb with Gatorade national player of the year behind him.
I’d love to see at least 9 wins, including a bowl win
One can dream.😂
He has to win the games that he should win and be competitive in the rest of them, not doing anything stupid to lose them and improving generally. For Florida that's like 4 wins.
BS…Miami does not have a better roster than FL if you factor both individual player ratings and returning experience. If Florida can’t beat them at home with a better roster, then they are in trouble.
- Seven wins or more
- Win two road games | Miss St + TENN/FSU (not beating UT)
- Win 4 sec games
- Win 2 out of three vs MIA/UCF/FSU
Do this and he stays
We basing everything off last years teams. Every year is different.
Florida isn’t losing to Florida state. My god!!
With everybody that we got we're good enough to be all these teams. That's a cold hard fact
6-6 will be enough IF the Gators win the state of Florida against Miami, UCF, Florida State
If he holds his own and wins the winnable games. He deserves to stick around for next year but UF needs to use the time wisely, we need to move on from Scott Stricklin. We need a read leader in AD. He has harmed the brand much more than any of the single coaches.
Ok question. 7-5 or 8-4 season, will the Gators keep the recruiting class?
Yes because then you can bring up the strength of schedule. And if you can sell that and having 7 wins is definitely a plus with the schedule Florida has this season
True. So a 9-3 season, we could flip some major recruits from major programs. Big if on the 9-3 but I'm definitely wanting them to push for it and don't let up or give in. No matter what they go through.
8-4 or 9-3 & Napier isn't going anywhere 💯🫳🏻🫴🏻🐊🐊
3:54 talking like that when we all knew AR was inexperienced and the rest of team was trash is wild as hell and disingenuous
The fact that 6 wins is now the norm proves how far we’ve fallen.
The swamp is filled with uf fans tears 😢
Totally disagree. 5-7 he still has a job due to having DJ Lagway. Billy gets fired they may lose Lagway.
I can’t see them risking losing this roster by firing him. I think he lives to see 2025 with Lagway starting.
Horrible take, you cannot base your entire program on a 19 year old.
@@smokey_gator_239 hear me out. If you look back, for the most part teams who win it all have a generational QB. Tebow, Winston, Burrow, Newton, Lawrence etc. I think if Lagway transfers and we start over we will be stuck in this cycle. Why not give it one more year. Trust me, if we start losing I’ll be calling for his head I’m sure.
@@smokey_gator_239 and if you re read my original post I did say roster. If he gets canned guys will leave in droves.
@@Mr._Bassman97 No I do appreciate that thought process. Just to me what caliber guys would be leaving, seeing how they are a losing program currently.
As far a DJ, I would hope he would consider staying. That being said look at the current situation, tons of QBs in the portal every year that you can win with. Plus always new HS 5 stars coming out that would want to be Gators as always.
@@smokey_gator_239 time will tell.
I got UF 8-4 or 7-5
Will sunbelt billy survive that scedule? Like gump said. Only one thing to saybout that . Nope. P.s 7 and 5 is hillarious . My god i would think 4 and 8 would be good with that team and schedule
No way, my local HS football team has more intensity than this program
I kinda feel bad for Napier in 2024.
UF in 2024 could legitimately be better than 2022 or 2023 and still end up with a sub-.500 record.
No, you win the first 5 home games and in Starkville if you are legitimately better. That’s not a sub-.500 record
@@edwardbloom6999 _If_ Florida manages to win the first five games. They could go 4-1 in the first five (with a loss to a solid Miami), still win in Starkville, and be 5-7 while still being a better team than 2022 and 2023.
Like, 2022's team would struggle to get more than 2 wins on the 2024 schedule.
Florida starts 7-0. Then comes back beats lsu and fsu. Book mark it and remember who said it first.
Fire sunbelt billyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
How does Miami have a better roster 🤔 prove that
They paid for it, but I still don't think they have a better team, the gators are bought in and and share a single vision. Miami has alot of good players but they don't have the time together to be a good team yet
@stevebeckerman2335 I don't see it in recruiting or the portal..they got a ton of 3 stars
Gators will beat free shoe university by 30 🐊🐊
If Napier don’t have a good season, the only thing that will save him is if he tell the administration that if u fire me then u most likely loose lagway.
Win all the front end. Can't lose to Kentucky. Miami must be a win. Tennessee maybe a toss. But we all know how that game goes. Need to beat LSU for crying out loud. How Long has it been. I like 8-4. If this is really an improvement I don't think 3 extra games even on this schedule is not asking the impossible. Can't drop home games a la Arkansas.
UF should be 5 - 0 after 5 games but probably will not win the first 5. The last 7 are the tests that I don't think Napier has the answers for. Probably lose all of the final 7.
Fla will win 7 are 8 games
Be real what has Napier done that had been good since that win against utah in 2022? He has shown that he can't win against florida is at least equal to or even better than case in point Arkansas game. Any chance he has had to prove people wrong and get a big win against a Missouri or a florida state he gets in his own way. Can he recruit? Having the number 3 class fall to 17 in 3 weeks. Yeah this guy is out of his depth. That schedule with this coach gets fired before the georgia game
Florida beat Sanford. The score was reversed. Sanford lost that game.
Prediction billy is fired after kentucky game
3-9...honestly having a hard time even finding 3 wins on there.
Stay off the sack
@@nicholasm3045 Time will tell
@@smokey_gator_239 sure
@@nicholasm3045 Vegas win total is 5, you are acting like I am so far off. Andy Staples also said floor is 3-9.
@@smokey_gator_239 Vegas total don’t m a shit. The games still have to be played
No way in hell billy taggert will survive 2024 it’s impossible.
Gators are going to be 10-2. Losses by Georgia and Texas and we’re sneaking into the playoffs go 🐊🏈.
Be realistic dude 💀
Sorry but no UF dropping the last five. Say goodbye to Billy.
2-10 or 3-9 best case scenario
Yeah okay 🙄🙄
8 wins to 9 wins for Gators
Fla is BACK! 😂😂
Miami does not have the better roster than Florida lol
I remember when Ron Zook got fired for winning 8 games a season…now we’re praising a guy if he wins 7. Scott Stricklin has ruined this football program
Rob zook inherited a loaded roster as well
@@dangerbaby644 Napier inherited the #4 overall pick. The dude has averaged 15 points against Kentucky the last two seasons but he still wants to call plays🥴🥴
I love this post Chad, thank you!
@@smokey_gator_239 I’m glad you liked it, Smokey, but it’s true. Florida used to run college football not too long ago. Now, for whatever reason, we are settling for below average seasons. Stricklin as made some Florida fans believe that having the expectations of Mississippi State is the new norm. Not me, I’ll always hold Florida to a high standard because once it’s been proven to be done at the highest level, that then should be the ultimate expectation for Florida football
@@Chad13 Could not agree with you more, happy to hear from someone with similar prospective. Your posts are thoughtful, well written, and on point so I appreciate it. I have alot of Gator fans coming at me for sharing the same feelings. Go Gators my man 🐊
Bozo Billy should be getting fired by the fifth game
Bozo Billy 😂🤡
Another losing season incoming
One of the rare times when a 5-7 record could possibly be considered respectable. Especially if they lose close
@@SOL.INVICTVS. A losing record is never respectable, regardless of the schedule
When did almost winning become okay. You go 5-7 and have 3 losing seasons in a row with the same schedule next year he's gone! No if ands, or butts. He's got to make and win a bowl game to keep his job.
Probably not. Getting beat by Kentucky one more time will do the trick.
They’re not gonna be close in any game. They’re in a lot of shit bozo Billy couldn’t coach no damn Buddy he’ll teach you how to spit on players.
FSU all day
