A truly fine model railroad! I liked the fly over way of presenting it and the music. I found myself wanting to hover over many places longer to check out some details. The phone lines are way over the top modeling! Thanks for sharing this.
Eine der realistischsten und schönsten Anlagen die ich je gesehen habe.Wow.Ich bin absolut begeistert, ein Meisterwerk. Grüße von der ttBahn Gottschalk aus Deutschland
Interesting how the lighting for the upper deck was done. Especially the consistency of it. Very much like the transitions with the backdrops. Love that dirt road on the lower deck, slightly going uphill and giving the impression it goes beyond the top just in front of the backdrop. Really justifies the sky blue over the road and adds to the illusion of depth. Cheerio
Great work Mike! Really beautiful layout! But really wish you had back dated a little more, and were running steam, like me! I'm the master mechanic of steam in HO, just ask our mutual friend "Jim Talbott"! I have the Broadway Limited C&O Hybrid L-1 490, & the 614 Greenbrier, both excellent runners, and soon will have the new Hybrid K2 Mikado, out later this month! My Rivarossi Allegheny is a good runner to, and although not completely an accurate articulated, captures the looks of the massive H8's. But, C&O diesels from the era are nice to see also! Joe Bliss
Awesome. Mike, first time i have viewed overall look at your layout. Always knew that operations and signals were great but scenery just as nice. Has to be one of the most realistic operating experiences anywhere.
This is one beautiful railroad. My grandfather used to work for the C&O and was based in Clifton Forge. His family lived right up the hill from the office at milepost 277. Your modeling certainly reminds me very much of that part of the town, Extremely well done.
1 of the first things that captured my eye on this Amazing layout, is something that not too many modelers do on their layout. I understand why after doing some myself on a modular piece. I want to say what an Incredible & Spectacular job on the Poles & Wires!! Those individuals need a pat on the back. I just wonder how many man hours and feet of material is in just that? Great video!!
Well done. Great color palette. A sense of going from point A to point B with a purpose. Well-managed scenes and views. How often do you curse the wires on the front line of the layout?
A couple of Observations: 1 WOW what a beautifully done layout. 2. I do not think that I have seen that much telephone wire strung on any layout ever before!
Great modelling. The layout looks fantastic. Well done. One comment. Move those ugly phones or whatever they are so they are no longer detracting from all your hard work on the scenery and it would be perfect. 👍
Yes! There will be one posted Sunday. Im working on editing now. There are also older videos that show operations on this railroad. check out the playlists on this channel.
Music on a video ruins the video please tell us what we are seeing locations, names, junctions, tracks, etc other than that looks to be a awesome looking layout
It's funny how we are all different. Music is great, people droning on in the background ruins videos. Last thing I want to hear is people talking. For me it detracts from concentrating on the detail of the scenery. Which in this case is Epic. Each to their own hey?! 👍
probably one of the best model railroads in the world. beautifully done, thanks for posting this! Love it!

Glad you like! keep and eye out for a special updated walk-through of this layout coming very soon.
Very impressive work.
Epic! Love all of the attention to detail, spot on.👍
Absolutely fantastic C&O model railroad
Very nice layout, I would love to see it in person sometime. Very impressive. Thanks for the tour......Wilmer

Love the Roundhouse view !
Loving your ability with scenery !
That is awesome! I love model trains, these are so fascinating

As someone who grew up in the area amazing
Just subscribed, awesome, awesome layout!!

I use live there in 1991. I use to skip elementary school walk down the hill to the yard and watch trains.
wow, much more stations as on the track plan of 2009
Amazing! Love watching.
Impressive work on the telephone poles.
Never mind the poles. look at how much wire was strung on them throughout the entire layout!

Great video!!
BEAUTIFUL railroad. I can't wait to see some TRAINS running on it!
I'm currently editing a video that will be posted Sunday morning.
This is world class model railroading. The background music? Not so much.
Well done. Great color palette. A sense of going from point A to point B with a purpose. Well-managed scenes and views. How often do you curse the wires on the front line of the layout?
You get used to them being there. It's not bad and it really brings the scenes together.
A masterpiece.
AWESOME

Code line
I thought the same thing. Give them credit for this must have taken a awhile to finish.
Wow, just beautiful!!! Can you tell me what the yellow knobs are for. On my road t hey will be to change the turnouts. Please... Now I see red ones...
Yellow switches on a siding and Red are mainline.
@@epicmodelrailroading Thanks, But how do they work?? Do you have a video of them?? Thank you...
I do not have a video. They are bluepoint switch machines. If you Google you can find lots of info on them.
Awesomely Epic!
About late 1940's to mid 1950's ?
1965
Great modelling.
The layout looks fantastic.
Well done.

The phones are operational and used during op sessions to communicate with the dispatcher.
Q ! At Covington, the train station,... how do 'people' get out and back from the 2nd platform btwn track 2 and 3 ????
Cab ride! Cab Ride! Cab Ride! Please!🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Spectacular railroad but the camera work was just about enough to give me vertigo.
Amazing! How are switching uncoupling moves accomplished ? Didn’t see any magnets ?
No magnets. The uncoupling whiskers have been removed because they didn't look prototypical. We use wood pick sticks to uncouple.
@@epicmodelrailroading Agree on the whiskers! Will you be posting any ops videos?
Yes! There will be one posted Sunday. Im working on editing now. There are also older videos that show operations on this railroad. check out the playlists on this channel.
Perfect layout for BIG STEAM, and possibly a roundhouse of some sort..
No steam in 65 sorry
Wow impressive. How big is this layout?
800 ft end to end
Captioned cab ride would be best. People talking in the background ruins it.
Where is that?
Are you referring to a specific location on the layout or the layout in general?
Mike, I question your sanity when I see pole lines WITH wires strung between the aisle and the tracks, so operators must lean in OVER the wires!
Music on a video ruins the video please tell us what we are seeing locations, names, junctions, tracks, etc other than that looks to be a awesome looking layout
