lisa was the only game to make me really cry. “dad comforts you” shook me to my core, brad, lisa and even marty were dealt a bad hand (mrs armstrong’s death) marty was a piece of crap but mrs armstorng turned him into that and in turn ruined everybody around him. and i’m not saying it isn’t marty’s fault for acting like that, it is completely his fault.
Mrs. Armstrong didn't turn Marty into anything. Whether she died or left, he became a monster all on his own. That's part of what drives the cycle of pain in the series. People shifting blame onto others without taking themselves into account. That's what makes Brad and Buzzo's confessions/lamentations so harrowing.
@Cursed Image.yoshithebastard.mp4 Mostly because the world is litteraly ending and filled with human waste. Brad was a good kid, and a good man, even after the trauma caused by the loss of Lisa. He would take the pain so others didn't had to go trough it, or teach kids how to fight so they would never be abused like he did, and for free. If Brad mind wasn't broken by his father and later on, Joy... He would have been an excellent father.

It’s been a while since I played this game, but this is not Brad : what all Buddy is seeing in the scene is a Joy Hallucination. While she was high, she killed all Yado’s mutants, thinking she was killing Brad. This scene shows who she loved, what truly made her happy. Even if she claimed frequently in the game that she hated Brad, that he was nothing to her, the true was that she loved Brad and for her, he was her dad. So when Buddy fights him while he comforts her, hugs her, it shows her conflicting emotions for him. She wanted so much to hate him and yet, she could not.
Brad's too op, he keeps inflicting Depression on me.

It’s one thing to fight a character that won’t fight back.
But it’s something completely different when they start healing you.
When I first did this fight, the moment it said “dad comforts you” and it healed me is when I lost it. I couldn’t stop crying dude.

I know its been, like, 4 years, but I just wanted to say I feel your reaction to this fight was the most genuine reaction I've ever seen.
That's really nice of you to say! Thank you! It was my first time playing through it and I definitely got super emotional during this scene.
...step aside Masked Man, you've just been dethroned.
Nah...
Or yes?
Maybe?
Idk
masked man is still king but this definitely comes super close
"Brad and buddy"...
Brad doesn't know what to do.
Brad takes some joy.
Brad feels nothing
Brad is lost. . .
that heart mark is what buddy drawed on his head...
my heart broke alot... when I saw this scene.. DANG DINGALING WHY DO YOU MAKE SAD SCENES!?!!
On a good note if you take the antidote she keeps mutant brad near her
It broke me when Brad puts a happy face and everytime you attack he huges Buddy
I keep coming back to this when I really just need to ugly cry alone for a bit
Brad misses you…
Maybe it's the fact that i never had a dad, maybe it's the writing, but lisa the painful was the first game that genuinely made me cry
took me 30 minutes to beat him, why?, I couldn't bother to fight the main characters estranged dad who won't fight back
He was also the main character of the previous game
Is... feels bad for attacking characters that doesn't fight back. Even more sad, they character is telling you that he failed you.
His attacks cause emotional damage
This is the only piece of media that has ever made me cry
When I first saw brad standing there, my first though was: NOPE and then my second thought was: AH HELL NA. And then I fought him.
The room where a tearful Brad caresses Rando's mask broke me, man. And this parting speech was 80% of that.
This series has made me cry so many times
This fight must have taken inspiration from the final boss of Mother 3 because it seriously reminds me a lot about that fight.
"Brad misses you"
This.... really..... hurts
Being someone who has a Dad who's a thousand miles away this got to me...
Shout-out to this being the first time a videogame actively made me break down :')
the stronger you are the harder you cry here
Could somebody write Brad's speech for this scene?
Isn't it already written?
