- www.engvid.com/ "I remembered to buy milk" or "I remembered buying milk"? What is the difference in meaning? "I forgot to water the plant" or "I forgot watering the plant"? English teachers often use similar questions in their tests. In this lesson, we will look at the verbs "remember" and "forget" and when they should be followed by a gerund or an infinitive. The meaning of "I remembered to watch this class" and "I remembered watching this class" is very different. Watch and find out how. And remember to take the quiz: www.engvid.com/remember-forget...
The big difference between the 2 structures is that in the first one (remember + infinitive) we remember what we need to and then we do it. In the second structure (remember plus verb -ing) we do something and then remember it after. It is a subtle difference but it changes the meaning. I hope this helps :)
Nice

Your lesson is easy to understand. It’s really great. By the way, could I have a question? In example 2 for Remember to do, you said: ”I remembered to buy some milk”, I confused whether I had bought or not yet at the time I said it. I hope you would explain it whenever you’re free. Thanks so much.
Thank you for making this video Emma! Actually these kinds of details speak volume when speaking English day to day, the way I took it in was: I forgot leaving a comment, as another way to say that I forgot that I left a comment by way of example.
Thank you Emma, I'll never forget watching this lesson ;-)

Great lesson as always! I was wondering if you could prepare a lesson on the 'rules' to use different prepositions and the form of the verb that follows them. For example: I have 'to work' late tomorrow; Thank you 'for calling' this morning; I'm looking forward 'to hearing' from you... Thank you so much!
