Its not about homofobia. I think it's more about influence and control and Jan was an outsider and no one worked for his success but himself. He is Independent like a gladiator who fights corruption and deals.

We really want Jann to represent our country at ESC this year, but the jury choose Blanka because she cooperates with TVP (polish "public" TV). Also, Jann has 18 000 votes from televoting and Blanka has only 6 000, so Polish people prefer Jann to go. I'm so sad that Jann was so robbed by a bribed jury. We sing a petition that talks about such injustice at our nationals final, but I don't think it's gonna work. The decision has already made and TVP said that everything was compliant with the rules that they changed 3 days before show.😡 #justiceforJann
Whether you are a member of the LGBT community or any other community, everyone has the same rights and responsibilities in society. If Jann lost because of homophobia then this needs to be clarified and justice restored.

We were robbed by our national broadcaster. They all did set up Blanka's place on purpose. We couldn't do anything about it. We want ESC to start doing something about it and we want #justice as polish eurovision funs. We are sorry about "our" representant who is Blanka at the end of the day.

There was a big issue with the sound, you were correct. There were different versions of his performance recorded by people in the arena, it sounded so different.
This was also Jann's first performance live on TV.
Clearly Poland wanted Jann, only because of our jury, we lost this chance, we will not get anywhere with Blanka... :(
It was not for homophobia and Poland has become much better with this. I accept everyone and don't care as love is love. Its because Blanka had connections with the jury.
I love that people all over the world getting that he really interpreted the lyrics of song. That is much more difficult that just singing. He made interpretation of his song. He is performer and has a scenic personality. That is why Poles loves him. Cause there is talent and he is an growing Artist... Not just a Mainstream Product!!! ❤️

The vote was rigged. Facts:
1) Blanka is friends with the son of Edyta Górniak who was head of the jury.
2) Her dancers are from the dance studio of yet another juror (Agustin Egurolla).
3) She’s been heavily promoted and already performed in TVP, e.g. at the New Year’s Eve broadcast with the same song.
4) Although Jann and Alicja were clearly the favourites, the jury strategically put them in 4th and 5th places to make sure that who the jury picked won.
5) The rules on how the winner is picked were changed a couple of days before the broadcast. In past years, the winner was picked based solely on the televote but this year they decided to do it 50/50 jury’s vote and televote. And they even added a disclaimer that in case of a tie, the jury’s vote breaks it.
6) Probably most damning piece of info: at 3pm TVP posted that Blanka won and proceeded to quickly delete the post. The winner was officially announced around 6:30pm. There are screenshots.
It’s the homophobic nepotistic TVPiS that has spoken yet again, not Poland.
As far as I know, most of it is true, but re 1) - there is no proof that there is any kind of relationship between those two, they were just sitting next to each other (still a bit suspicious but I think we shouldn't just spread the rumors if we are not sure what is really true). And re 5) - there have always been a jury in Polish NF. Yes, there were some changes few days before the selections (the main change from the last year - no 'super final' for the best 3 entries), not sure what else has changed and it's for sure outragous that something like that happens shortly before the event but I wonder - do people even check the info before forwarding it to others? Just to be clear, I supported Jann with all my heart and I am very disappointed with the results but this discussion around the whole situation is turning into just spreading rumors and searching for new conspiracies. Of course, there were a lot of things that makes you doubt if the whole process was fair but please - let's try to double check before we call something a 'fact'.

Szpak w TVoP też momentami miał ekscentryczny ubiór z dużym dekoltem, pomalowane paznokcie, a przez długi czas był jurorem w TVoP za czasów PiSu, jeśli mnie pamięć nie myli. Nie nazwałabym tego jakimś aktem odwagi.
Strój Janna przede wszystkim pasował do przekazu utworu - bo przecież utwór jest o showbiznesie i o tym, jak to showbiznes traktuje ludzkie ciało jak walutę, więc według mnie bardzo dobry i świadomy wybór.
Definently the best from Poland and maybe in all Eurovision, but it's political and has nothing to do with LGBT but the message of the lyrics and his strong performance and presence. Iconic! He is a star!

Jann won in the viewers' vote, the manipulated jury gave him 4th place, which in total gave him second place, I voted for Jann, we can't accept this verdict, Jann is charisma, emotions, talent and Blanka can't sing
Polish viewers chose Jann with 18,000 votes and Blanka with 6,000. It was the judges who gave Blanca the win. We are outraged.

Hello yes there was issue with sound! There is a video from audience using mobile and it sounds much better
Sound was different everywhere, it was different in the studio itself, it was different when you're watching it on TH-cam and it's even different when you watch recorded program by people for example on Twitter, they did it on purpose, sound quality on TH-cam is trashy just for people to think "oh that's not that good".
It was the TV's decision to have Blanka represent our country. Jann won the viewers' vote, however, the jury finally chose Blanka. Everyone loves Jann, he became very popular in Poland. We are disappointed and pissed 😤😔

Still can't understand jury decision- how Blanka's infantile song get 12 points, especially after such a bad baaad live performance? She won't even has a tiny chance to pass the semifinals. About the homofoby- there is a rumor, that one of jury was very sceptical about Janns image and choreography- he may said that Jann "could have problems with getting high note if his team won't change it". Shocking, but if its true (hope not)- terrifying and shameful

The amount of rage after this voting should show you the true nature ov average Poles. We like artists, whether they are gay or straight or anything else - matters not when it comes to talent recognition and cheating in voting. Good thing is that he got a lot of attention, also among fans like me, who would never come across his music if not this controversy.
It's nice you made a video about it but I feel that a lot of videos like yours miss the point a bit. He had 3 times more votes than Blanka. It's not the case of homophobia in Poland. It's the case of corrupted jury and being friend to people who decide about the winner. It's impossible how bad reputation Poland has internationally. Come to Poland, and see for yourself. You won't be less welcome than any other person here. We don't have no-go zones like most of the European countries. Reputation is one thing, but being gay in Poland isn't a crime you know. The reluctance for gay people is no bigger than in other countries.

Poland didn't make this decision. The jury made it. Public votes for Jann were 18k, while Blanka got only 6k. Polish people are not so homophobic. Unfortunatelly it wasn't the public choice. People are pissed off with the jury, they want Jann to win regardless of jury's votes. However, Blanka is a good friend of Edyta Gorniak's son (Edyta was a head of the jury) and another person in the jury - a choreographer works with her too. It is sooo unfair that Polish people still hope it can be fixed, they ask Blanka to resign.
Jann is 24. He's never been performing on a stage in front of the cameras so... I think he did brilliant. He's smiling cos of a bit of stress, I think
There WAS an issue with the sound! But strangely, only with the sound output of the broadcaster. I found 2 other recordings of Jann singing there, recorded from the AUDIENCE. With PHONES! And magically, there are no such sound issues, no shaky voice no vocals off! You can particularly hear the difference at the very start, and the part between his 'scream' and the end of the rap part. This is totally rigged. And honestly, i'm starting to believe that the other contestants (who had similar sound issues, making them all sound very bad) have had their sound messed up as well - except for Blanka, whom i doubt needed her sound to have been tempered with.

If the Polish people were so homphobic, they wouldn't have supported him as much as they did and would not have been as outraged as they were, don't you think? So the jury didn't think it was a good look to send Jann but it's a good look to send an over sexualized, tone deaf, rich girl instead? 🤦🏼♀️ If you want to see what theft looks like, watch Blanka's performance again. I'm disgusted. I pray she comes in last place on Saturday and I'm Polish. I think we'll gladly take the 'L'.

Yikes, much worse than I remember it being. Yes, cute guy, sexy moves, but he can't sing, his English is terrible and his song wasn't that great either. Yikes, you all guys should take the L, whenever a bubble favorite isn't perceived as greatly in a national final and stop bashing the person who won instead. And mostly they're doing better than the bubble favorite would have done, eg Germany this year, Belgium and Poland last year. This needed a lot of improvement to even qualify. Many people defend his vocals (which were arguably worse than Blanka's) by saying this was his first performance. Well, if that's true, then I doubt he would have improved enough in 2½ months. Maybe later, yes, but not in this short period of time. It actually doesn't defend him really, but it's rather making his case even worse. Blanka's already had experience and took vocal lessons, so she improved enough to advance. Plus, her song was less bland and more memorable, plus it had meaning, while the lyrics to Gladiator (which they still could have changed, at best into Polish) are rather messy and just gibberish. Sounds like a failed attempt at adjusting a song that was meant for a female for a male singer.

If there's even a color associated with gay men, I think, black would be the last one you would be thinking of. Seriously, it would rather be white or something bright or colorful, than black or dark blue or dark gray. I don't know, to me, black just comes of as a very straight color, especially with men. Colorful clothes or white stuff are also just that, clothing and no sexual orientation, but I really don't get, why black can be perceived as a gay color. Where I'm coming from, it's actually quite the opposite. I highly doubt that anyone in the audience or the juries perceived Jann to be gay. However, maybe one male juror just kinda felt aroused by his performance and was afraid of himself being gay or bi.

There are many reasons but one is def the fact he is homosexual unfortunately but also Edyta Gorniak son’s potentially dating or is friends with Blanka did not help. Another juror trained the dance routine for Blanka either way we are appalled! Jann is our choice not blanka.
He was out of tune for more of the half song. He needs TONS of singing lessons.

I’m sorry vocally this is terrible but the song is interesting and has potential. He saves it with his presence for sure. Whether this was sabotaged by the Polish broadcasters or not I found it hard to watch but I heard it till the end. I saw the mobile feed also. I saw peoples comments saying this was the first time he performed on live t.v. I don’t understand how that is possible for him to be allowed because if he did represent Poland at the biggest song contest in the world Jann could have struggled with lack of exposure in front of the camera and his reputation could have been damaged. I don’t know Blanka never heard of her until now so this is going to sound like an ignorant comment but how is she so popular when she really can’t sing. I understand she has connections that have helped her along but that would get her so far. It’s the people buying her music that would make the difference if she makes it as an artist. Right!
