Is it good to just use plain old cinnamon and cloves? I'm trying garlic too. I put raw garlic everywhere last year. I had 2 rattlesnakes and 2 copperheads in my yard. I put most of the garlic inside the house so it didn't smell great but no snakes came inside. I am terrified of snakes and usually spend all spring and summer worried to death about one getting in my house. My nephew had a copperhead in his living room last week.

My yard is infested with snakes so I keep containers with ammonia around . It immediately chases them away from the area- not permanent though.
