I was also surprised about myself that I didn't really felt hurt by their breakup...maybe because Klaus and Elijah broke my heart even more, because they really can't see each other...but I had this feeling that this wasn't ultimate. They'll find their way back to each other when Elijah remembers (I'm sure that'll happen), because there's still so much love between them.

I don't buy her rationales about needing to break it off to protect Hope, since in that light Klaus who is extremely important to Hope is way more of a monster and continues to be but it does mean that she isn't just living for her relationship with Elijah. I hope they find a way to be together again. After all Elijah is immortal and Hayley will live a very long time - and Hope will grow up. Then what?
