  • Who doesn't like Sauvage by Christian Dior? This is one of the classics in the Fresh, Aromatic perfume line up....but what if you're interested in exploring some niche perfumes with similar character traits?? I got you!
    The following 6 fragrances is a brilliant place to start if you're new to niche perfumery.....but also great if you're already knee deep in niche bottles!
    Cedrat Boise by Mancera
    Chez Bond by Bond No9
    Himalaya by Creed
    Brilliantly British by Penhaligon's
    Absinthe Boreal by Maison Crivelli
    Uden by Xerjoff
    I'm in love with perfume and beautiful smells. I deeply love niche perfumes and find that they are unique and incredibly diverse. I am Marcelo and I'm the Niche Fragrance Collector.

    I recently bought Cedrat Boise not too long ago and I felt like the woodiness was overpowering. It had a smokiness that honestly I couldn’t get my head around, that being said the citrus opening is nice but is short lived as the wood/smokiness comes in fairly quick.

  • @fukcserbia
    @fukcserbia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have both Himalaya and Uden. Uden is probably the least worn Xerjoff fragrance i own. It's a very unique smooth scent, but my wife says it smells like cleaning products, probably because of the citrus in the fragrance ...

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I've read that others have a similar experience with Uden. I find that 'citrus' can be a tough category because so many cleaning companies like to use that 'note' for their products.....all I can say is thank goodness that my wife doesn't use whatever brand your wife is using🙏🏼
      I find that in about 30 minutes it comes off that high citrus note and goes into the other facet of the fragrance....so just stay away from your wife for the opening (actually there are some fragrances in my collection that I do just that! My wife doesn't like some openings, but loves the drydown, so I spray....go to the office etc and then when I return, badda bing!😎)
      Great to hear from you my friend! You know I don't know your name (other than @mmss)....do you mind if I find out?😬

    I mean, I get that Sauvage is everywhere but I honestly rarely/never smell it on others. I actually recently bought it and do still wear it, because I like it! I don’t care how popular it is haha. Also I think Sauvage Elixir is very good!
    Cedrat Boise is great, I ended up buying a full bottle of the Intense CB though.
    Wearing Himalaya today actually, really like this one. Also does great on hot days. Agreed it’s not a bright citrus vibe but fresh and clean.
    Haven’t tried any of the other bottles on that list

    Cedrat Boise is a phenomenal summer fragrance! But i have heard complaints that after a while you can't smell it on you, as your nose becomes accustomed to it.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem of going 'nose blind' does happen. I find that if you over spray on a perfume you accelerate the outcome....I always spray 3 times (on any perfume) and find that I can smelt it the whole time. This is definitely the case with Cedrat Boise.

    Great video, Marcelo; it is incredible how much knowledge you have! I think that it would be fair to mention that today's Sauvage is a joke! Its longevity should be 1 cent of the original one! This being said, I do not find anything similar between Sauvage and Cedrat Boise, but perhaps it is because I dislike almost all of Mancera's products! The Crivelli one is another which I find not similar to Aventus. Crivelly has some excellent extraits, but the edp's have serious longevity issues! This Absinthe Boreale lasts how much? 30 minutes? Not to mention Neroli Nashimba... So, in summary, we need to play safe and stay with the great Xerjoffs!!!!!

    I tested Uden a few months ago and didn't like it because I thought it was too lemony and medicinal. Tried it again today after watching your video and oh man the drydown was so beautiful and addictive! I think people who dismiss this fragrance or compare it to cleaning product probably only smell the opening like I did. Thanks to you that I was able to rediscover this beauty. Yep, Sauvage is a classic; perfect fragrance for a man. Regarding the T&H perfumes they're all eau de colognes (not eau de parfums) so the concentration of oils is way less (normally eau de colognes are about 2-5% versus parfums at 20%).
      So yes, they evaporate a lot faster. If I'm wearing a T&H as my SOTD, I normally spray again after midday for another burst of the fragrance....hope that helps Alan. Great to hear from you mate👊🏼

      I love your description of fou d’absinthe...image of Peter Falk's in Princess Bride came to mind😂 (now I know what he was wearing in these scenes)
      Nasomatto absinthe and Crivelli absinthe boreale are 2 very distinct fragrances (almost polar apart)
      Nasomatto's version is, green/herbal
      Crivelli's is icy/fresh
      Both are awesome and both could be worn by Grandpa's....(I'm a Grandpa with 5 grandkiddies and I wear them😉 but never while reading them stories....on my bucket list!)
      Great to hear from you Jack, thanks for reaching out

    Hello Marcello. Could you tell me shorty the differemce between Sauvage and Orto Parisi Cuioum? I cannot find any place where I can test it but that primal design suggests me sauvage in some sense. Are they similar? Should I buy Cuoium if I am big Sauvage fan? Thanks!

      Thanks for reaching out!
      If you are referencing Sauvage by Dior then there is zero similarities to Cuoium
      Cuoium is a beast of a fragrance. Like a wild tiger
      Sauvage would be like a terrier that has lived indoors all its life😂
      Check out this episode that I compared to Sauvage
