I have been a lifelong yankees fan for 73 years and for me what it came down to as far as Soto's decision was the fact that the Mets organization is a fun ,loose, family friendly atmosphere for Soto, whereas the Yankees organization comes off as a an old stuffy place to be. The Yankees want you to look a certain way. You can't be who you really are. The Yankees organization is way behind the current times when it comes to young adults. Players know it and that stops them from wanting to be part of the Yankees team. The Yankees organization is too formal & stuck in its old ways. The Mets have arrived with Cohen taking the helm and direction.

This is great, we finally got some swag. I want the Mets to be the most hated team in baseball again....like we were in '86! Now all we need is to get Strawberry and Knight back on the team just in case there's a fight.

He wanted everyone in his family taken care of, Soto is truly a family man, and he still lives with his moms. So yes, he wanted his family to have their own suite, and yes, money was a factor, but the Mets putting Juan’s family’s wishes first was the deciding factor. Yankees did not want to give his family their own suite.

I'm salty, I'm Yankees fan. Also,Juan Soto 10000000000% signed with the Mets because of the money. That's the sole reason, and we all know it. I'm not mad at him over it either, I would take the most money too. I'm salty because there are people either pretending to believe,or actually are gullible enough to believe this had anything to do with anything but money. Like if the Red Sox offered him more money, he wouldn't be in Boston right now.

Yankees offered 50 million less but over one more year. The offer was not remotely the same or close. Christ. Imagine needing to have him actually choose the Mets for something other than money so badly that you pretend an additional 50 million dollars over one less year is not that big a gap.
