  • While it seems the art of casting a multiplier for Rock & Surf angling has diminished. There are many anglers who still use this method for catching a variety of species, and for good reason..
Using a multiplier for Rock & Surf angling is particularly great for sliding baits, be it for edible species like Garrick and Kob, it is also ideal for shark and ray fishing as the line capacity can't be beaten.
In this video, Ray Thompson explains how to correctly spool a multiplier reel including some interesting knot techniques like the Cats Paw.
    You will need:
    - Daiwa Saltist 50H Reel
    - Triple Fish Gator Braid
    - Kingfisher Giant Abrasion Mono Line
    - Kingfisher Leader Line
    - Mustad Scissors

What is the most line a fish has ever taken on a run? For me, a particularly active lemon shark took about 100 yards.

Doesn't the Uni knot also work for tying your line to the spool?

Yes 100% The knots are almost identical. The only difference is the direction the tag ends points once the knot is tied.
