To be clear for some people who cannot tell: this is not meant to make fun of fanfiction authors. I write fanfic too, I go through some of these emotions too, and this is just a lighthearted look at how many of us suffer a bit for the sake of art :)

Wattpad is a gold mine for funny jokes in serious occasions and ao3 is needing therapy but pretends everything's ok
One of the funniest tags I’ve seen that comes to mind is “canon has been slow roasted and carved for juicy bits” lol
The "no beta we die like [character]" tag is my favorite running joke that spans practically all fandoms lmao
