  • Hi Guys, here is a video showing how I made one of my notebooks. I hope you will agree that it goes a little beyond just a plain old notebook? Enjoy and have a great craft day, Amanda :-)

    I'm enjoying this again after seeing it all those years ago. You know, I have never seen anyone yet who has realized that there is a little center mark on the Cinch. All you have to do is fold your paper in half and make a tiny crease or pencil mark and put it at that center mark on the Cinch. Then the holes will always be evenly spaced from the sides. Thanks again for all your wonderful videos!😘

      I had the same thought. I'm a fairly new user, but I always fold some scrap of the same size in half and use that with the centre line.

    Thanks for this video. I also made an album with 2 different size paper and went through the same problem, but it worked out okay and I learned alot. I like the way you suggested using the paper folded in half to make it pages. It sure makes it more easier. Love your videos.

    Glad to have been some help, and I dfinately think the cinch is a 'cinch' to use :-)) It seems to me from what I read much simpler to work out sizes than on the BIA. The crop a dile is one of those tools that you find you dont think you will use and then do. I even used mine to punch an extra hole on a leather handbag strap! lol TFW x

    gorgeous! I was going to get a bind it all but my husband talked me into the cinch. I'm so happy he did! And I'm glad you showed using the eyelets. I keep tossing around getting a crop dile, I keep thinking I won't use it, but now i'm sure I would! :)

    Glad you liked it hun, and i didnt know that about the bind it all, that must be so annoying. I got the cinch as it just seemed so simple to me compared to the BIA? As for snow, nope we havent had any and has been really sunny until yesterday when it blew a gale and rained cats and dogs! Mind you i am pretty much as far south as you can get apart from devon cornwall as we are in the newforest just above bournemouth so it tends to be milder. TFW :-)

    thank you, yes it looked even nicer in life as the red paper at the top had a very subtle pattern on it which the camera did not pick up. I am getting some photography lights so am hoping that will improve the videos. :-)

    Thank you for the tutorial! I am a new subscriber, can't wait to see more of your videos 🤩. Did you paint the edges white before you put on the red chalk?

    • @lollilulucrafts
      @lollilulucrafts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      welcome to my channel and thank you for commenting. This project was a long time ago but as far as I recall I just inked straight onto the edges with the red ink no painting first. I think i would be too impatient lol, you might not have it on this video, but on all the newer videos they have a link in the para below the video to the blog post on my website that goes with whichever video you are watching. The great thing is on the blog post you will have loads of photos - I always take tonnes, and links to the products used. I have literally only a month ago completely redone my website and there are new features on it like video library etc so worth a visit. It's www.lollilulucrafts.com Thx again for watching, amanda xx

Oh and by the way you still have a couple of hours to have a vote, here on TH-cam on my channel page under the community tab, on the poll asking which video you would like me to post next and there are three options to choose from. Love and hugs, Amanda

    Can someone please tell me, what is the newest version of the Cinch, when I do a search I see yellow ones, pink ones, blue ones, and black and white ones....I went to the we r memory keepers website and typed Cinch binding machine in the search box and all that came up was accessories for the machine and not the machine itself. I looked on the Michaels site and couldn't find one, is this a discontinued item? Just to let you know, I am asking this question on other TH-cam sites in hopes of someone answering me. Thanks

      I am so sorry I know this is really late in a reply but believe it or not this only just showed up! Someone else left a comment on this video and for some reason it made this one pop up too - most odd. Anyway if it is not too late I believe these are all the same machine just produced in different colours. Yes they were released at different times and some are colours exclusive say to a craft shopping channel. But I think time wise, although machine wise again I believe they are the same, the We r memory keepers blue is the latest just because i think they are consolidating all their things into company colours. Hope that helps if its not miles too late :-)

    Hiya for some reason your comment has only just come through to me which is a bit weird after 9 months, I punched the holes on the cinch and I looked up on google and it seems that the cinch makes holes for a 1/4inch eyelets. I did not know specifically as i just used from my stash but as this seems to be the size of hole for the cinch I presume this is what they are. Hope that helps and so sorry for the delay, have no idea what happened :-)

    Why did she ink the edges if she covering them up?

    • @lollilulucrafts
      @lollilulucrafts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya, I explain at about 2.48 why I decided to ink the edges - it was such a long time ago I had to check back to what I had actually done on this project, but basically it was all explained there but also I would think now in hindsight that it is a good thing to do so that when you smooth the edges with your sand paper or even distress them with a distress tool that if the paper is slightly rubbed back further than anticipated that you have the colour there instead of the horrid brown. The corners in particular are susceptible to being worn a bit more and actually look quite good if you do so deliberately. So it also gives me the opportunity to change my mind later and do distress the edges if I wanted. But the reasons on this project are I think all explained at the time mentioned above - I just dipped in to see what I had done and literally landed on that spot so it may be there is more said but this at least is a start. I do tend to try and explain my reasons if I think of it xx

    Wow
    I’ve watch other video for the cinch and are not as long as yours. I think you did way too much measuring.

    • @lollilulucrafts
      @lollilulucrafts  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joyceteen Holmes oh dear sorry you think that. But there was a reason, I wanted the paper to be slightly smaller than the outer board so I needed to ensure that not only were the holes even but that when put inside the outer boards that they matched up. I also wanted to fully explain how I worked it out rather than just saying I punched the paper end of. If I don’t explain my workings out then if someone wants to make the same but maybe a different size then they wouldn’t know how to work it out on their own. I always like, with a tool that is new to my channel, to explain it fully so sorry you found it too long but hope you will enjoy the more current videos of mine which have moved on a lot from this one 😀
