Mistakes in the Quran almost never cuts any ice with beievers or cause them to doubt their faith . Because they are told to believe there are no "mistakes" in the Quran, only our mistaken understanding of them . Because Allah is right even when he is "wrong" , as He is above and beyond the comprehension of ordinary human reason and rationality ! And it is very hard for critics to counter such circular logic . 😄

Fun fact. Muhammad was illiterate so he never knew if the stories he had heard ORALLY from others around him had come from the Bible or from apocryphal stories and pseudo-gospels circulating at the time. He sometimes made mistakes in the re-telling. One of his scribes, Abdullah b Sa'd, realised what Muhammad was up to and fled to Mecca saying 'If Muhammad is a prophet I'm half a prophet!' That is why Muhammad had Abdullah's name on a death list when he conquered Mecca. 😁

@@fudayl4380 Sorry, bro. But it is far more 'logical' and 'realistic' not to believe in a life after death. You have seen dead animals, haven't you? There is no afterlife of hell or heaven for them, is there? We love and grieve for our pet cats and dogs, but we don't seriously think they are being punished or rewarded for ever, do we? We tell our kids that Fido has gone to 'doggie heaven' but we don't believe it, do we? 😁

Hasan, could you please briefly refute the "prophecies" of the hadiths that the Euphrates will dry up, there will be green meadows, rains, rivers, etc. in Arabia? Muslims refer to them, claiming that the Euphrates dries up and completely dries up (according to researchers) before 2040. Those. after 18-20 years. Most obivous mistakes in quran is that it is writen in it that its a clear book ,sent down in detail and explenation of everything which is contradicted by the verse which says that some verses are unclear and the fact that there are tafsirs needed in order to explain the verses of quran as well as hadiths to put it into historical context show quran to be a lie, also even tafsirs and hadithjs do not agree with each other on the explenation and the historical context .Another mistake is the verse which states "today i have perfected your religion for you " which would mean that quran is complete and finished nothing is added to it and that verse is that last verse but according to every scholar that was not the last verse of quran and other surahs were added after that verse ,that again shows quran to be a lie....

    For Believing Muslims,
Please learn the origins of the fictional Abrahamic god. It all goes back to the fictional Canaanite god El. Also, keep in mind that the Israelites were worshipping this fictional god centuries before Islam came along.
    *El, Yahweh, or Jehovah*
Christianity and Islam originated in the Middle East. Any Christian in this area when asked about the Name of God, he will say Allah!
    The English Bible starts with:
"In the beginning God created the heaven and Earth."
And the Arabic Bible starts with:
"In the beginning Allah created the heaven and Earth."
The western Christians are unaware of the Name of God of their eastern brothers. Some Christians think that Allah is the idol that the Islamic cult worships! The Office for the Non-Christian Affairs at the Vatican published a document under the title "Orientations for a Dialogue between Christians and Muslims. It is a very important document in that it shows the new position adopted towards Islam. In the third edition of this study (1970), the document stresses this fundamental point in the following terms:
"It would seem pointless to maintain that Allah is not real God, as do certain people in the west!" The Conciliatory document has put the above assertion in its proper place. There is no better way of illustrating Islamic faith in God than by quoting the following extracts from Lumen Gentium, produced by the second Vatican Council (1962-1965):
"The Muslims profess the faith of Abraham and worship with us the sole merciful God, who is the future judge of men on the Day of Reckoning."
Google *"His Name is Allah, History of Truth"*
(The fictional Canaanite god El that the Israelite patriarchs worshipped, later conflated with Yahweh, is the same fictional god of the Muslims)

There's no way anyone living 1000 years ago, or 10.000 years ago, would be able to reach the very old age of 122: Jeanne Calment (21 February 1875 - 4 August 1997). There have been people in the 18 century who lived to be 100 (I have a facsimile of very old news paper dating back to the late 18th century, reporting about a female who died at the 'blessed age' of 100), but that's extremely rare: most rich people of that time would not live past the age of 70, with most poor people not living past age 45.

The Bible doesn't give any explanation of the 950 years figure. There are several different ways that Christians understand the passage that gives the ages of Noah and the various pre-flood characters in his lineage
One is the Young Earth Creationist view that these are literal ages in years, and that reduced human lifespan over that period, and afterwards, is a knock-on effect of the fall. Obviously this view presupposes a world that's quite different in a number of ways to what mainstream science tells us.
One is the one you give that the ages are months, rather than years - though this does mean some of these characters had kids at a very young age.
One is that these are the lifespans of clans named after these individuals, rather than the ages of the individuals themselves.
One is that these numbers are intended to be symbolic, and perhaps have some similar origin to the Sumerian Kings' List, which lists pre-flood kings who reigned for thousands of years.
Personally I lean towards the clans explanation.

@@FriendlyExmuslim well, there are different views. But many, many folks don’t take it so literally. That’s my point.
We know men wrote the Bible, inspired by God. They did so in their own contexts. If that’s how they counted years, that’s how they would have written it. The context of the authors and when it was written matters to reading the Bible. People who take it so literally make a mistake. When and where it was written matters for the correct understanding. From what I understand, this distinction isn’t possible with the Quran?

So say 900 full lunar cycles will be around 75 years if a single year has 12 moon cycles. Then it no longer becomes an issue with the story being too unrealistic to be true, but rather that it's something that has been lost in translation.

Utnapishtim in the Epic of Gilgamesh is a very different character from Noah in Genesis. The stories share a very vague outline (God/the gods decide to flood the earth - for very different reasons - and somebody avoids being drowned by building a boat). Apart from this broad outline the stories have virtually nothing in common. Whilst it's plausible that both stories were ultimately developed from a common origin, it's extremely implausible that one of them was an adaptation of the other. Mohammed's version was obviously based on what he'd heard about the Biblical story, since the Epic of Gilgamesh had been forgotten for at least a millennium (and possibly two) before he lived.

If Kerala Namboodiris Brahman created RIGHT to LEFT Hebrew, then who created Arabic?
The answer is the same Kerala Namboodiris !
Pythagoras and Plato studied in Kodungallur University of Kerala. Same way several Persian scholars studied Math in Kerala before Jesus was born.
Arabic language was created by Kerala Namboodiris. Their numerals are called Hindu-Arabic even today.
The Persian Mathematician Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi studied in Kodungallur University in Kerala.
Fibonacci took his Arabic works to Italy from Bejaya , Algeria.
ALGEBRA is derived from Al-Jabr, one of the two operations he used to solve quadratic equations. Algorism and algorithm stem from Algoritmi, the Latin form of his name.
Al-Biruni was a Sanskrit scholar who learnt Math and astronomy in from Namboodiri professors adept in Sanskrit and Arabic .
    While others were killing each other over religious differences, Al-Biruni had a remarkable ability to engage Hindus in peaceful dialogue. Mohammad Yasin puts this dramatically when he says, “The Indica is like a magic island of quiet, impartial research in the midst of a world of clashing swords, burning towns, and burned temples.” (Indica is another name for Al-Biruni’s history of India).     This is from my biased individual perspective while being Catholic;
In Judeo-Christianity, sin brought death into the world. We forfeited eternal life by not trusting God. Genesis shows that every successive generation had less years of life, as their distance from eternal life increased.
You make the modeling references, which i don’t refute. Judeo-Christians would counter and say that there was no disease, injury, stress back then bc we had not fallen yet, and were sustained by God’s Spirit in a unique way that we don’t have access to currently.
Even with Judeo-Christianity, one doesn’t necessarily have to believe that that section of Genesis is literal, as it could be primarily in nature symbolic.

And you know, we aren’t 100% sure this guy actually did it yet, he just drives the same car and they think his weapons might match, it might turn out to not be him.

@Hannah “do not behave like muslims” lol are you really saying that? Most Muslims are lovely people, especially here in America where more Muslims support LGBT rights for examples than Conservative Evangelical Christians in states like my state Arkansas. You know most people don’t take their religions that seriously unless they are fundamentalists, the problem with religion arises when people take all of this stuff literally and try to apply obviously ancient customs and morals to the modern day. But you know religion can be good for some people too. There is a quote by Karl Marx that is often misinterpreted by his critics and followers a like “religion is the opiate of the people, (here is the part usually left out) the SIGH of the oppressed” essentially what this quote is saying is people turn to religion because they have hard lives and need something bigger than themselves that makes them feel safe to believe in. That’s part of why I became a Muslim. I don’t even read the Quran, I still eat pork and I drink beer occasionally, but I pray now and listen to a dude who sings the Quran (in Arabic which I don’t speak) on my computer because it makes me feel better, and I try to be good to people and be honest, that’s all there is to it. And to be even more honest a large part of why I became a Muslim is so my future wife can go visit her parents back in Iran when we marry, her parents don’t care what religion I am but their government does.
Btw I basically agree with this video, this story is obviously made up, I thought that when I was a Christian and when I was an atheist too. No one should really be surprised that a myth from ancient Sumeria is in the Abrahamic religions if they know history. It’s weird little myth like every culture has, many Americans don’t recognize what some of our own myths are yet.

To break these assumptions, there exists a long list of unusual events and things that have taken place in every kind of creation in every part of the universe.
(4). In particular, the person who has a clear concept of God’s being All- Powerful, cannot be involved in the misunderstanding that it is not possible for God, Who is the Creator of life and death, to grant a life of a thousand years or so to any man. I am an atheist and certainly not a believer in any holy book but I feel this argument is a poor one.
Firstly, the opinions of other men are irrelevant, no matter how revered they may be. As in your video's title, we must focus on what the book tells us.
Any follower of the Abrahamic faiths will tell you that people in those days lived longer and it was only after the flood that the life span of men began to reduce. We might think that this is nonsense but we cannot prove it.
If we make a positive statement, such as the Quran is mistaken, the burden of proof lies with us. Therefore, this criticism founders in the face of someone saying "if you can't prove Noah didn't live that long, you cannot prove the Quran is mistaken".

    • @theastronomer5800
      @theastronomer5800 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

This may not be the best example of a mistake (as you can make several arguments), however, biologically this is simply very unlikely - what suddenly changed in the way our cells work that life spans were cut to 10% of what they used to be? Also, the flood is a regional myths, did people all over the Earth suddenly live shorter? Such a drastic change cannot be explained biologically. Evolution in humans takes tens of thousands of years to show up, and is very slow and gradual, as it is in other species, so this does not fit an evolutionary model.
There are many other mistakes which are simpler. For example in one verse Allah says that all living things have been made in pairs (the tafsirs explain that this means male and female). We know however that many species reproduce via different asexual mechanism and don't have a pair. So, that is an easy one to argue.

    • @scheimaa172
      @scheimaa172 2 ปีที่แล้ว

It's a Mistake since it doesn't align with reality. Biologically speaking humans can't live that long.
claiming that it was a miracle/magic isn't a good argument out of it. Since there's no such thing as a miracle, everything that happens obeys the laws of the universe.
The burden of proof here isn't on us, it's on them to prove that the impossible happened. And since all miracles apparently happened thousands of years ago and aren't happening anymore they can't prove the existence of miracles.

@@theastronomer5800 Everything you say is, of course, accurate. However, my point was not to argue that the Quran is true but to show that this particular argument is a poor one because we cannot 'prove' it is a mistake.

      @Outspoken.Humanist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@scheimaa172 Thank you for your reply.
The issue here is not whether religious claims are accurate it is about the difference between saying "I do not believe, show me your evidence" and stating, "This is wrong/impossible".
My point wasn't that it could be true. I don't believe it any more than you. But saying we do not believe and demanding evidence to support a religious claim is different from stating outright that something did not happen.
if we make a positive statement that it definitely did not happen, we have the burden of proof and Muslims can answer by claiming a miracle.
If we make a second positive statement that miracles are impossible, we have the same problem.
Whilst miracles are, by definition, a suspension of the laws of physics, we cannot absolutely prove that they do not happen, only that their likelihood is highly implausible. For example, we cannot truly know that what we perceive as physical laws are indeed universal, because we have no idea how big the universe is or that the laws apply equally everywhere.
A better way to refute any religion is to highlight where an infallible holy book makes opposing claims or statements. There are plenty to choose from. For example, the Quran gives two different versions of how long God's day lasts in human terms.
Surah 22.47 states that it is 1,000 years but Surah 70.4 states 50,000. Both cannot be correct.
The best way, of course, is to simply say, "show me your evidence".

Okay, this isn't a slam dunk at all. I think you will find the Hebrew also has some construction like a thousand minus fifty, or similar. It doesn't have hindu Arabic numerals saying 950 like in modern translations, numerical expressions were more problematic to express prior to Hindu Arabic numerals being adopted, especially for high numbers.
And I can't speak for others, but as I understand it the idea is that back in those days people lived longer because they were closer to the time of purity and Eden, declining in years until God ordained that our span would be three score and ten years, which is another example of how awkward it was to even express the number 70 back then.
There was a whole line of them living hundreds of years. I used to have a book from the jehovah's witnesses showing them all on a chart with their ages expressed as heights on the chart. Methuselah is well known for living nearly a thousand years as well.
I actually think when the bible says people lived for eg 120 years, they may be counting six months as a year. In the levant there is a spring harvest and an autumn harvest, and because it is between the tropics, there are two points in the year where it gets hotter and then cooler (rather than just one "summer" each year like in higher or lower latitudes than 23 degrees north or south).

It might be related to the idea that "in those days there were giants" (Gen 6:4), with the idea being that these were giants as men, not literally in size.

You're using the wrong interpretation methodology, I know they're are many translations of Quran all based on the 1 Original book and those translations are copy and paste from generations before us who understood what they thought what versus of Quran meant and today they might tweek it here or there ( but not original) just the translations that is
Quran declares it self as a Book with anchoring principles within it , so you don't really need to rely upon other peoples translations based upon other peoples opinions, and " so called attributing sayings of the messenger of Allah" knowing that we do not even have the original books of Hadith of the purported authors there are gaps of 100, 150 years in most cases, like all knowledge, you need to know the fundamentals , in this case it would be language, grammer, syntax, past literature or any language records to understand use of language and it's prime understanding according to the source, in this case it would be time of revelation and general life experiences, trials and tribulations also not forgetting willingness to learn, (Zabuur)= keys to unlock/ uncover, which our "translator's" have translated as Psalms, why? Because they clearly borrowed what they thought it meant from the Bible and Torah, even though the Quran is explicit in saying that those scriptures have been corrupted and it's contents are not reliable, but NO our so called scholar's injected that understanding because they obviously didn't understand Arabic Abstract concept's, so the Quranic verse reveals what the story was about, David was given the keys to unlock the presant scriptures ( Torah)
So he was given knowledge, willingness to understand the book , not Psalms as if it was a part of the original book
Same explanation of Jesus Story, all borrowed from Bible because they couldn't unlock the Abstract concept's i.e Jesus brought the dead back to life doesn't mean literally he helped transform people who were dead figuratively those who lost hope
He healed the born blind and leper, same again not literally, he helped those that were born blind in my opinion are those who were born into unfavorable circumstances in this case environment ( people around them ) has had a detrimental effect and they're completely lost
The leper is part of the people who were subjected to discrimination and accusations that they were born in such away because it was a curse from God , and he Jesus reminded those inflicted with anytype of handicap that it was a test from God and it in no way was a curse but maybe for the people who didn't help, more like hadicapp people are a test upon the healthy?
So you can see Quran reminds us how the previous books got corrupted, they took abstract concepts out the equation, when that's the heart of all divine books, you have to extract the meaning it's not a 4 th grade book
Hadith say the messenger split the moon literally
and they attribute this to a Quranic verse:- Surah al Qamar
And when the moon splits the time of the hour is near
And when the sun is at it's most radiance
And when the moon >follows< ,
'follows' is incorrect should be > recite <
How can the moon recite after the sun?
Know what was the locution of Abraham?
Quran explicitly states the Quran has been constructed in his locution style
I.e the sun 🌞 = the scripture or messenger or both,
Moon 🌝 = a prophet, they reflect the message I e interpret the scriptures, explain to people the contents
So the moon splitting indicates end of Prophethood to the Jews because not only was Muhammad a messenger he was the seal of Prophethood for the Jews, the tearing of the contract so to speak, and dosent a contract reflect? by the way 😀
Hence Jews were sent prophet after prophet to explain the Torah
In Arabic the root of Torah is T-W-R means concealment, and also described In Quran as the thorny tree all indicating a book who's contents were hard to extract the true meanings, that's why they were sent prophets one after another, that's why I said in the beginning Quran has a methodology within to extract it's contents and has anchoring principles, whereas Torah it's anchoring principles are above the book Indicating prophets needed

So, according his logic (which is probable estimation based on the human that live today) if we produce a mathematical model that shows human could have lived longer in past then he will re-embrace islam, post an apology towards God and muslims, and delete all of his videos. (This is possible bcz we are dealing in mathematical estimations for example just increase the size of red blood cell whole human anatomy will change not observable scientific Facts)

Bible and quran both agree and state that Noah lived 950 years...theres no mistake in quran and it is a message from God to all ...read quran...your attempt to disprove God's word is silly, you do not have even have enough wisdom to number the hair on your head but you dare to explain God's message...read quran and meditate on it...

Well, how would a religious book _need_ any facts to back it up? If allah wants him to be 1000 y/o, he will be. Like the dudes sleeping in the cave for way too long to be alive. Who needs logic when you have the skymonster to keep you company! :D

This is lazy. I could point the story of the people who slept in the cave to protect their faith. When they woke they're in a different era. Add that to your list.
