I wish I had options when it came to hunters. :D I have big feet and and also have to get the short or have no choice but to get the adjustable tall ones if I want tall ones. My calves are big too. :D The original tall look perfect on you! You're so lucky to be a size 5! They have your size on clearance like 24/7!

Just wanted to let you know that the white residue is a common occurrence/ expected with all Hunter boots. It's called "blooming". If you purchase the cleaner kit they sell you can remove it and make them look new again. Hope this helps. :)
The "white" is not ageing, It is purely the rubber blooming. Because it is made from natural rubber, a white powdery residue sometimes surface depending on the chemicals the boots come into contact with. Simply wipe down with a damp cloth to remove et voila! Your boots are like new.
I bought a pair of Hunter Boots last Christmas here in Ireland and here we are not even a year later and after some light walks they are letting in water around where my foot bends. Apparently Hunter Boots have recently moved production away from Scotland to China and the quality of the boots has drastically dropped since the move. Because i couldn't locate my receipt Hunter customer care refused to help me. Expensive, don't last & Last pair of Hunter boots i'll ever purchase.
So sorry that happened to you! I've had mine close to three years now and haven't had any problems yet. I even bought a second pair I love them so much.
You look good wearing your Hunter Wellingtons but I would prefer to see you wearing them with a Skirt, wearing them with Jeans is so last Century, I wear glossy red huntress Wellingtons as I have thick calves.

Right! I found the Huntress to be a good middle of the tall an the kids, and they have a wider shaft for the calves!

They all look too big on you. You should get the refined original ones. They're a tighter fit around the calf
AnnyLovesPink I tried the refine in the store but it was too tight with the thick hunter socks so that's why I didn't end up getting it.

The huntress is made for people who use wide size shoe. Not just big calves.
