Thanks great video! Just one quick question: Normally I put all ad variations (different hooks, 9:16+1:1 format) into one adset. Should I keep putting different format variations in one flexible adset or stick to one format? My 9:16 really „live“ from the bigger space which is why I wouldn’t want to cramp everything in a 1:1 safe zone.

Hey Nick, awesome content. One question, regarding the video/image size, which one is the best for flexible ads? Do you use different sizes to fit different placements?
Hey Nick, do you recommend buying strong FB profiles and BMs and setting up a bulletproof accounts advertising structure so that the business/pixel/page etc. stay safe and only the employee ad accounts are the only ones at risk of getting banned and can be easily replaced. Thanks so much
Where can you find the breakdown by creative in flexible setup to check the performance of each creative (like we could do with dynamic creative before)? I can't find the option now
Great video! Question: wouldn’t it be helpful to see the breakdown so you can get ideas on why is one variation outperforming the other? Do you think Meta will bring back the breakdown in the future?
If i see the winning creative varition by post with comments, then i can just compare that creative to the other 2 tested and draw conclusions. I don't need a breakdown to see that. I'm sure they will in the future!

hello nick, thank you for always keeping us up to date ! just a question as i introduce new dct adsets to my cbo camp, how should i increase my camp spend ?, in my case i had 4 video adsets and introduced 4 new photo adsets after 9 days.
Hey Nick, unlike dct, the new flexible format allows us to create more than 1 ad per adset. My question is what is the difference between: 1. Having 3 concepts as 3 adset, VS 2. Having 3 concepts as 3 ads under the same adset
@@NickTheriot The first will create 3 different audiences won't it? So the first will generate three audiences best matching the banners, the second will find one audience with the best performing banner.
Hello, great info. I have an online clothing store, Im currently running 3.2.2 ads using charleys methods. Im currently just using 1 campaign. In that campaign im pretty much focusing on my best selling item sending all traffic to a landing page of that product. Can i use the same campaign in a different ad set to send traffic to my home page aswell (to prmote more cold traffic). Or should this be in another campaign?

Would you take the post id and run an awareness campaign on that post id to increase reactions, comments so that the ad can potentially have higher conversion rate because of the higher reactions and comments?
Would you do Flexible Creative or am i better off using ABOs with each ad set testing different concepts? Any idea how to determine winning creatives in each flexible set?
when I created my first FLEX, i got super low CPA in FB account, but Triple whale has no NCPA in TI attribution, which means no new customers LOL. it has also majority of spend. which attribution in TW you use to make a fb ad decisions?
Yes we're still working on scaling this account, it's a new account we just started with. This video is not about scaling or a case study, but how to use flexible.
Thank you! What do you do when you have a unisex product, but have different angles...For example, some of your creative is focused on 60+ females, and other creatives focused on 25 year old males. Again, exact same product. Would you put those in different ad sets in the same CBO? Same ad set but different flexible ads separating the creative? Not quite sure where facebook does it's learning on audience to show to.
Hi Nick, may I ask... Due to this new Flexible Ad format, we can't change the video thumbnail manually (but Dynamic can). Do you have any idea of this? because if the Meta makes my video's thumbnail randomly, it seems to be pointless to make a text hook. 🙏🏻
Cool. Can these multiple adsets compete with one another and negatively affect the results? Also, have you compared standard audience vs advantage+ for adsets?
Hey Nick, I want to test 3 different desires in images. Do I have to test them in 3 different adsets or can I take the same concept image example "twitter post" and simply change the text to have 3x the same image, but 1 desire per image in the same adset?
what's the difference between creating a flexible adset with 3 creatives and creating a normal adset with these 3 creatives separated (traditional way)?
I run a subscription box for runners, and have 3 questions. Should i go broad or add various running demographic interests? Im assuming by watching the video youre against Lookalikes, is that correct? What are your thoughts on limiting to Engaged Shoppers since Purchase is the sales onjective?
@@NickTheriot You must be very trusting of Meta; it scares me, but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm not big enough to utilize your services, but we're getting there and I'll definitely be reaching out in the next 12 months.
Hi Nick, is there a bug happening where when we click [Breakdown --> Dynamic Creative Elements --> Image, video, and slideshows]. The system doesn't show the breakdown of each performances, so we won't know which creative and combinations performs the best
Nick this new account has started with 50 or 100$/daily budget? If you can say it.. And, with flexible ads do you launch new adset for any new angle even if you can duplicate it in the same adset? Thank you
Thanks for this video Nick, super helpful! I have also watched your other video: Live Building A Facebook Ad Campaign In 2024. That being said, I have a question about testing on a brand-new Meta account. So I know your current strategy is running with 1 broad ad set using 6-12 standard ads depending on budget for 7 days. Then whichever ad gets the most spend or conversions is the “winner”. At that point you test 3 creative iterations, with 2 body copies, and 2 headlines. So my question is after you have found a winning iteration from you standard ads and you scale the flexible creative ad set and it does well for some time. But inevitably hits ad fatigue. How do you test new “big swing ad angles”? Do you go back to testing them within the initial standard ads set up for 7 days before finding a new winner and testing interactions on Flexible Creative? Or do you jump straight to testing new “big swing ad angles” with Flexible Creatives?
@@NickTheriot Nice! I assume using the same setup except with new big swing concepts. So 3 new big swing creatives, 1 winning ad copy & 1 new ad copy. Then 1 winning headline with 1 new headline. Correct?
hi nick a quick question, there is no budget limit on my ad account and how should I start advertising for a new brand for dropshipping? Does it make sense to start with DCT and which is the cbo abo in the beginning?
In your ads do you recommend using catalogue to show with the creative(image or video) ? I'm referring to the format where there are 4 products below the creative
Hi Nick, thanks for this new great video on a such important topic. After a couple of days Facebook gives me the advice to combine the adsets because of fragmentation. It would save 33% it says. How do you deal with this? Thanks a lot
Thank you for the amazing video! Question: What is the best practice for running ads in different ad accounts or using multiple pixels for a general e-commerce business with different niches in a medium-sized country? Is using one ad account and one pixel sufficient, or should I create a separate pixel for each category and run ads in separate ad accounts? What are the guidelines for this?
If I’ve tested 3-6 concepts focusing on positioning in the marketplace and identified a clear winner, followed by running a 3/2/2 DCT to focus on the texthook, then the visual hook. Now that I have identified a current winning ad and I am looking to test call to action button, how do I go about doing that, considering there's mor ethen 10 CTA options to test, should I load all of them and run them together?
Hey! Quick question, I noticed that the flexible feature doesn’t allow me to upload custom video thumbnails. How do I get around that, or should I not worry about that at all? Thanks!
Hey Nick, previously with DCTs, once we found a winner, we could move it into a scaling ad set. But now without the DCT breakdown in Flexible Creatives, how can I find out which creative is the winner to move into scaling? Do I just take Meta's word and assume the preview ad is the best creative to scale?
Instead of puting 3 videos or images in a felxible ad , how if we create seperate ads for them in a adset. By this we will know which creative and text actually worked. What are your thoughts on this ?
Thanks for the video! I currently run ads to 5 countries but I only have 2 campaigns; campaign 1 (US) and campaign 2 (UK, CA, AU NZ). I structure it this way primarily because the total spend for the 4 smaller countries is only 40% of my US spend (3k and 1.2k). Would you advise to keep it this way or create a campaign for each of the 4 countries?
I agree...following the reasoning on spent, why was this turned this off as it got a lot of spent? Also I'm not convinced by launching new ad-sets for each FF. That means you constantly have learning phase and limited learning. If you would launch the new concepts as FF within one ad-set, you optimize&exit the learning phase quickly and have a high performing ad-set. Or am I missing something here?
@@nielshoeben3194 there's a giganct chance of each time you add a new flexible ad into the same ad set the learning phase of that ad set would reset. So, no exactly the best approach. But when you ad a new ad set inside a CBO campaing, it doesn't restart any learning phase.
Hi Nick, have you or any of your community experienced only being able to use flexi-ads with Advantage + shopping campaigns? I can no longer create CBO campaigns with the option to create flexi ads at ad level.
Hi Nick. When we launched the flexible ads with 1:1 creatives, Meta was auto-cropping it to 4:5. This led to many creatives in a single ad set. Due to which, the overall budget was not distributed effectively. Have you faced any issue like this? What do you suggest in a case like this? Thanks for making the video. Was waiting for this. Cheers
@@NickTheriot That's helpful. Thanks for replying. Also, what about the character limit of 100 characters in primary text. I saw you testing detailed primary texts and not violating any policy. When we tested a detailed primary text, it should that the copy exceeds the character limit of 100.
Hey Nick, I was wondering if you had seen this update in any of your ad accounts. When I was doing broad no-interest targeting in a CBO or ABO campaign in the past, the reach for Australia was 19-22 million. Now, it's down to 12-14.8 million. However, for Advantage Plus campaigns, which essentially is broad no-interest targeting, the reach is still 19-22 million. I'm curious why Advantage Plus campaigns are suddenly reaching twice the audience compared to traditional CBO or ABO broad no-interest campaigns, which used to have the same audience size but are now 2x lower. Is this because meta wants us to use advantage plus now and not cbo/abo broad no interest targeting anymore? Your opinion on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hey Nick. Can i run 3 completely different image creatives with 3 different text hooks on each in the 1 flexible Ad? Each creative appeals to a different audience who would use this product. Or does it need to be 3 iterations of the 1 concept in each flexi ad to work best? I am testing 3 angles to hopefully find a winner.
Hi man, love your content ! So if I understand right, when you want to test new creatives, you only add adsets with a "concept" ? How about adding creative into existing adsets when you see them having decreasing results? Is it better to - add a fresh new adset with a set of new creatives? - add a creative in a well established adset? I can see for exemple that my adsets that went through the learning phase are performing better, and more consistantly than the fresh new ones, because facebook still needs to learn with them, and I don't know if adding new creatives into them will compromise the existing ones working or increase the chance of the new creatives performing. Also, is the dupplicating adsets with same creatives still working? Like trying to "split" the pockets of the audiences by having multiple same adsets
@@NickTheriot dupplicating adsets with same creatives, "split" the pockets from HIGH daily budget CBO, which spend low high roas/cpa or spend high but performance decline when CBO budget increasing. These 2 way is not very good, they only run good with low budget, is the same result in HIGH daily budget CBO( your ad structure)! Not good for scaling after Mega sale day!
I watched the video about preparing for Black Friday, but I have a general question: is it a good idea to include ad sets with seasonal discounts-like Black Friday, Christmas, etc.-in this campaign?
Wouldn't be the same if we put into one adset, 3 flexible ads using 1-2-2 which will do 12 post IDs but in this structure I'll be able to analyse which creative is performing the best?
Hi Nick, I have a 50€ daily budget limit for a CBO campaign. I want to test a new ad set with dynamic creatives based on the winning creative from the current ad set. Should I pause the old ad set to allocate the entire budget to the new one?
awesome video Nick👌🏆! With CBO, can we start with a small budget like $20/day and instead of using flexible is it okay to have like 2-3 ads per adsets or it's better to use flexible testing? Thank you in advance.
I’m stuck, I’ve been doing Facebook ads for 5 years (with some breaks) and have had mostly good results through that time. Now I’m hard stuck at $80-$100 CPM (was $20-30 last month) on any conversion ads, regardless of the creative, for broad targeting women in the US. I recently bought a large amount of followers to kick start this account. Is it possible Facebook flagged my business managers after and artificially increased the CPM? I might try deleting my Facebook account, waiting 30 days, creating a new one, and starting with fresh everything. Any thoughts or advice from anyone would be much appreciated!
@@NickTheriot I hear you there, it’s just I was very profitable over the years at $20-$30 CPM. Now at $80 - $100 I have to spend 3-5x as much for the same clicks. My ATC rate has been above 15% at this CPM and purchases are around 2%. It just seems I am spending almost $2 CPC because my CPM is so insanely high to reach new people. I use to average a CPC of $0.30 cents to $0.60 cents All of these price hikes happened within the last month or two. Have you noticed something similar? Normally I only worry about CPA but with my CPC and CPM quadrupling in a month, it undoubtedly significantly increases my CPA because $100 gets me like 40 visitors when it use to get me around 200 visitors

just a question as i introduce new dct adsets to my cbo camp, how should i increase my camp spend ?, in my case i had 4 video adsets and introduced 4 new photo adsets after 9 days.

@@NickTheriot thank you so much
Love your video man, thank you so much
Thx/ Jon
Appreciate the support Jon!
Hey Nick, unlike dct, the new flexible format allows us to create more than 1 ad per adset. My question is what is the difference between:
1. Having 3 concepts as 3 adset, VS
2. Having 3 concepts as 3 ads under the same adset
No difference, just personal preference
@@NickTheriot The first will create 3 different audiences won't it? So the first will generate three audiences best matching the banners, the second will find one audience with the best performing banner.
Thank you so much. If my DCT wins, Should I just keep the DCT ad set and move it to the main ad set, Nick?
Just leave it on is what we've been doing
Hello, great info. I have an online clothing store, Im currently running 3.2.2 ads using charleys methods. Im currently just using 1 campaign. In that campaign im pretty much focusing on my best selling item sending all traffic to a landing page of that product. Can i use the same campaign in a different ad set to send traffic to my home page aswell (to prmote more cold traffic). Or should this be in another campaign?
No reason to push traffic to the other page
Hahaha. I'm not trying to sell you sh--! Hilarious close. Great principles--and a nod to singularly framed book to your back right. I'm excited to start working with you in the future. I'll be scooping up the course in a few weeks--possibly mentorship.
Kudos.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Would you take the post id and run an awareness campaign on that post id to increase reactions, comments so that the ad can potentially have higher conversion rate because of the higher reactions and comments?
No
Would you do Flexible Creative or am i better off using ABOs with each ad set testing different concepts? Any idea how to determine winning creatives in each flexible set?
Flexible or a new way i'm dropping next week
when I created my first FLEX, i got super low CPA in FB account, but Triple whale has no NCPA in TI attribution, which means no new customers LOL. it has also majority of spend. which attribution in TW you use to make a fb ad decisions?
I would take a look at overall nc cpa for the store and if that improved, let it roll, if it got worse then turn it off
Hi Nick, thank you for your video! How was the budget you've started with? I see that after a month is at 200$..
Yes we're still working on scaling this account, it's a new account we just started with. This video is not about scaling or a case study, but how to use flexible.
@@NickTheriot Thank you.. no judging, i have a new account too and is helpful seeing other new account spending low budget 😊
I would do seperate campaigns for that
Hi Nick, may I ask... Due to this new Flexible Ad format, we can't change the video thumbnail manually (but Dynamic can). Do you have any idea of this? because if the Meta makes my video's thumbnail randomly, it seems to be pointless to make a text hook. 🙏🏻
I haven't been worrying about this
Cool. Can these multiple adsets compete with one another and negatively affect the results? Also, have you compared standard audience vs advantage+ for adsets?
Only if there is a bad creative that gets all the spend then yes and all i'll do is turn off the adset
earlier you used to create a 'winners' ad set where you added winning post ids. Are you not doing that any more?
No
Hey, What about "maximize value of conversion" as performance goal? Do you use that, and in what cases?
I don't
Great Vid thanks! 👍
No problem 👍
Hey Nick, I want to test 3 different desires in images. Do I have to test them in 3 different adsets or can I take the same concept image example "twitter post" and simply change the text to have 3x the same image, but 1 desire per image in the same adset?
I only do one desire per concept
what's the difference between creating a flexible adset with 3 creatives and creating a normal adset with these 3 creatives separated (traditional way)?
Flexible is easy to have one ad vs 3, from a management perspective
I run a subscription box for runners, and have 3 questions. Should i go broad or add various running demographic interests? Im assuming by watching the video youre against Lookalikes, is that correct? What are your thoughts on limiting to Engaged Shoppers since Purchase is the sales onjective?
Broad only
@@NickTheriot You must be very trusting of Meta; it scares me, but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm not big enough to utilize your services, but we're getting there and I'll definitely be reaching out in the next 12 months.
I've been using this method since Jan 2022 and there's only been maybe 2-3 times that has happened
Love this Nick! same as what Charley said
Thank you!
@@kylechristiansuarez579 doesn’t Charley say 2 headlines and 2 primary? I think Nick advises to change the creative x3 but leave the text alone.
Hi Nick, is there a bug happening where when we click [Breakdown --> Dynamic Creative Elements --> Image, video, and slideshows]. The system doesn't show the breakdown of each performances, so we won't know which creative and combinations performs the best
Yes that is true, that is why i just rely on see fb post with comments to see the best one
Love the video! How would you test a carusel ad?
Just create a regular adset
Do you always use flexible ads / dtc’s? Is that like your sop?
Yes
@ Best answer I have gotten in a while man, weird enough, keeping it straight to the point-love it 🤝
Nick this new account has started with 50 or 100$/daily budget? If you can say it.. And, with flexible ads do you launch new adset for any new angle even if you can duplicate it in the same adset? Thank you
Every adset is one new concept. Every new concept is either a whole new angle, an iteration, or variation
Welcome! I just go straight into those new angles as flexible creatives
@@NickTheriot Nice! I assume using the same setup except with new big swing concepts. So 3 new big swing creatives, 1 winning ad copy & 1 new ad copy. Then 1 winning headline with 1 new headline. Correct?
Can you show the entire google sheets template that you showed in the video for recording and tracking each new creative batch test?
For students only
Hey! Do you leave the option "Optimize creative for each person" on on the adset level ?
No
You're actually the goat 🔥🔥
Thank you!
should I have Advantage+ Creative Optimizations on, or should I turn them off?
I turn them off
hi nick a quick question, there is no budget limit on my ad account and how should I start advertising for a new brand for dropshipping? Does it make sense to start with DCT and which is the cbo abo in the beginning?
th-cam.com/video/Z6zMnzmNdfg/w-d-xo.html
@@NickTheriot thanks
In your ads do you recommend using catalogue to show with the creative(image or video) ? I'm referring to the format where there are 4 products below the creative
I don't
Hey nick, does a “winning ad” usually take off from day 1? based on your experience
Usually within the first 48-72 hours
Hi Nick, thanks for this new great video on a such important topic. After a couple of days Facebook gives me the advice to combine the adsets because of fragmentation. It would save 33% it says. How do you deal with this? Thanks a lot
I don't listen to it 99% of the time
OK thanks, but is it true though that you loose money by ignoring it?
Thank you for the amazing video!
Question: What is the best practice for running ads in different ad accounts or using multiple pixels for a general e-commerce business with different niches in a medium-sized country? Is using one ad account and one pixel sufficient, or should I create a separate pixel for each category and run ads in separate ad accounts? What are the guidelines for this?
I just do one ad account per niche
If I’ve tested 3-6 concepts focusing on positioning in the marketplace and identified a clear winner, followed by running a 3/2/2 DCT to focus on the texthook, then the visual hook. Now that I have identified a current winning ad and I am looking to test call to action button, how do I go about doing that, considering there's mor ethen 10 CTA options to test, should I load all of them and run them together?
I wouldn't tbh
Hey! Quick question, I noticed that the flexible feature doesn’t allow me to upload custom video thumbnails. How do I get around that, or should I not worry about that at all? Thanks!
I just don't worry about it
@@NickTheriot good to know. Thank you, I’m getting on it today!!
I just leave it on
Can you share a copy of the spreadsheet at 10:40?

Instead of puting 3 videos or images in a felxible ad , how if we create seperate ads for them in a adset. By this we will know which creative and text actually worked. What are your thoughts on this ?
Nothing wrong with thay
Did you open the creative+advantage or off it because it will convert your ad in to carousal as well @@NickTheriot
Keep it that way, since you already did it. Only split if you create a dedicated shopify store for each country (which i recommend)
u r the best man thank u
Welcome!
In each adset, should the creatives be the same with different copy, or a variety of creatives in each adset
90% of the ads we test every month is freshly filmed content each ad
Nick, why you turn 114 off? What data let you close it?
I agree...following the reasoning on spent, why was this turned this off as it got a lot of spent? Also I'm not convinced by launching new ad-sets for each FF. That means you constantly have learning phase and limited learning. If you would launch the new concepts as FF within one ad-set, you optimize&exit the learning phase quickly and have a high performing ad-set. Or am I missing something here?
Wasn't hitting targets we need. Need a new adset that spends more with a lower cpa than our highest spending adset
@@NickTheriot 114 is your new test adset? if 114 is your older spending most winner adset not new adset, will you based on 7/30 day cpa to close it?
@@nielshoeben3194 there's a giganct chance of each time you add a new flexible ad into the same ad set the learning phase of that ad set would reset. So, no exactly the best approach. But when you ad a new ad set inside a CBO campaing, it doesn't restart any learning phase.
Hi Nick, have you or any of your community experienced only being able to use flexi-ads with Advantage + shopping campaigns? I can no longer create CBO campaigns with the option to create flexi ads at ad level.
Negative
Cheers
Something we started doing is 9x16's and putting all the important stuff within a 1x1 zone inside the 9x16, so it can go to all placements
@@NickTheriot That's helpful. Thanks for replying.
Also, what about the character limit of 100 characters in primary text. I saw you testing detailed primary texts and not violating any policy.
When we tested a detailed primary text, it should that the copy exceeds the character limit of 100.
Do you turn on dynamic on the adset level or only flexible on the ad level? Kind of confused to be able to choose on both levels.
Only flexible at the ad level
Thanks for the information mate!
No problem 👍
Hey Nick,
I was wondering if you had seen this update in any of your ad accounts.
Thank you.
Have not seen this
In the ads account demo, did you end up turning off all the ads you tested? since they did not get too much of the spend.
Yes
Hi Nick. Do you also exclude purchases last 30 days?
Yes you can
I like to do 1 concept and 3 iterations on it
what happened to putting the winning DCT creative combo in the "main" and turning the DCT adset off?
I stopped that
How to determine your profitable cpa number? And do you not look at roas as the main indicator of a winning ad anymore?
I don't look at roas, i look at cpa. Full video here th-cam.com/video/QfmJZqL0ews/w-d-xo.html
Hi man, love your content ! So if I understand right, when you want to test new creatives, you only add adsets with a "concept" ? How about adding creative into existing adsets when you see them having decreasing results?
Is it better to
- add a fresh new adset with a set of new creatives?
- add a creative in a well established adset?
I can see for exemple that my adsets that went through the learning phase are performing better, and more consistantly than the fresh new ones, because facebook still needs to learn with them, and I don't know if adding new creatives into them will compromise the existing ones working or increase the chance of the new creatives performing.
Also, is the dupplicating adsets with same creatives still working? Like trying to "split" the pockets of the audiences by having multiple same adsets
Always new adsets, never add to existing. No duplication does not work, it's a myth.
@@NickTheriotalright, awesome man thanks for your reply 🙏
@@NickTheriot dupplicating adsets with same creatives, "split" the pockets from HIGH daily budget CBO, which spend low high roas/cpa or spend high but performance decline when CBO budget increasing. These 2 way is not very good, they only run good with low budget, is the same result in HIGH daily budget CBO( your ad structure)! Not good for scaling after Mega sale day!
I watched the video about preparing for Black Friday, but I have a general question: is it a good idea to include ad sets
with seasonal discounts-like Black Friday, Christmas, etc.-in this campaign?
Yes and no, depends on how long it's running.
Wouldn't be the same if we put into one adset, 3 flexible ads using 1-2-2 which will do 12 post IDs but in this structure I'll be able to analyse which creative is performing the best?
Sure you could do the same
Hi Nick,
I have a 50€ daily budget limit for a CBO campaign. I want to test a new ad set with dynamic creatives based on the winning creative from the current ad set. Should I pause the old ad set to allocate the entire budget to the new one?
No, just create a new adset to see if it beats
@@NickTheriot Thanks man, you're the best
thanks for the one liner. It all makes sense now
Welcome!
awesome video Nick👌🏆! With CBO, can we start with a small budget like $20/day and instead of using flexible is it okay to have like 2-3 ads per adsets or it's better to use flexible testing? Thank you in advance.
yes and i would just use flexible
I do not worry about cpm.
Focus on CPA
That’s the only thing that affects performance.
I use to average a CPC of $0.30 cents to $0.60 cents
All of these price hikes happened within the last month or two. Have you noticed something similar?
Normally I only worry about CPA but with my CPC and CPM quadrupling in a month, it undoubtedly significantly increases my CPA because $100 gets me like 40 visitors when it use to get me around 200 visitors
