Thanks for the input Chipotle! I never had a problem with its precision. Do you use Manga or Photoshop to paint? I have found that Manga makes all the gestural strokes as natural as pencil to paper. Photoshop is not up to par in comparison at least from my experience. As well as inking goes I don't find it difficult to accomplish on the tablet..but again, I am not really an experienced digital painter so I can't really account for the differences between cintiq and tablet. I will need to address this issue further on another future review. Tha ks again for the input!
Hello Fabian B. I can't reply directly to you for some reason...but I will reply here. To answer your question, yes it can support both pen and touch simultaneously....but I prefer to only have it available on the upper right due to the way the enables and disables the touch features...essentially if you aren't careful, you will have hundreds of little tiny marks on your work as you develop your final project due to raising your pen off the tablet while your palm is at rest on the tablet. That does not work well with my workflow so I run the hotkey action script to avoid those instances. Hope that helps.
great work oldschooleightyfive and thanks for the video!! do you have a website and or instructions on how you got this particular artdock touch key configuration? i'm getting a Fujitsu Stylistic Q584 (running windows 10) as a replacement for my old dell latitude 10 and wanted to be able to speed up my work flow on it by utilizing this function that you've demonstrated. thanks!!
Honestly, I use it on the video to eliminate for clarity. My studio lights are dim in comparison. The real use of my light table is for actual transfer of my foundation lines on thumbnail sketches to full illustration boards for pencil finals, traditional inking, and copic rendering a final art piece.
Oh, after watching your video, I bought one of these! $500 on eBay. I would really like to have the Motion Computing one somewhere down the road. Can't seem to find it for less than $2000 though.
Joey Fisher its a Gradco table made by NuArc. They run between $250-$500 used...I found this one at a thrift store for $50. Built like a tank and the best $50 I ever spent!

A very interesting thing do you suppose it should be better for drawing than just a typical graphics tablet? And a question: Are you fimiliar with ours?
I think this Samsung tablet is ideal for artists that need to do some professional work on the go but have a full fledge computer at home to produce a final finished product. Its not to say you can't finish your work on this machine but it would require a lot of additional components and additional tasks that would slow down workflow. For instance an external monitor to see the image at full print size while working zoomed in on sections of the art with the tablet. External Memory for files to clear storage on the machine periodically due to the limited capacity. As far as the Bosto tablet, I have not had the priviledge to use it yet. If you would like an honest review from an artist who uses tablets on a daily basis I would be honored to do this for you.

Hi sir. Thanks for your extensive review. Could you please list what tool I should purchase for my step daughter so she can draw on this? You mentioned a Toshiba unit but since this is a couple years old I thought you might have an updated version. My wife and I just bought this used for my step daughter in HS. She is a budding artist and we weren't ready to invest in an outright professional tablet but we wanted something she could practice on. What kind of compatible pen would you recommend please.
Can you install all your pc applications like maya and zbrush on it like surface pro? Does it have wacom drivers like surface pro so you can have pen pressure sensitive? Its only hd3000 gfx card? How does it handle 3d programs?
Hello joyster75, I don't have Maya or zbrush so I cannot verify that it can be loaded into the computer. Given the specs on the machine itself, it is rated lower than the surface pro and I am sure even more so compared to the surface pro 2. That being said, what I can account for is that they run windows is systems so as long as 4g of ram and and decent graphics card is available to run Maya and zbrush, it should run ok. As far as pressure sensitivity goes it is the same as both Surface pros which is at 1024 levels. Accuracy, in my opinion was way more accurate on the Samsung hands down. But this was also at the time when Surface Pro did not have the available wintab driver which could have been at fault. I hope this information helps!

my biggest beef with Paint Tool SAI and SAMSUNG is the touch feature. It causes serious mayhem. For some reason the touch feature makes it move around all over the place at random. My best recommendation is to run the Hot Key Action Script (located on this comment thread) to turn off the touch (or at least have it placed in a corner somewhere) in order to use the software program.
