R40 is actually a format I love. There is basically no old school magic of any kind where I am, only commander, its hard enough getting people to play Modern or Pauper let alone anything else, even with proxies. So I built some R40 duel decks to keep with the rest of my decks so between games or while waiting, I can get them out and play some low stakes old school without needing anyone else to invest in it. So far I have UW Control and Disco Troll as dual decks, and some cheeky 15 fog TurboMillstone as an extra one.
@@TimmytheSorcerer yeahh, i just noticed on their web. I dont understand this: "Revised 40 decks may consist of cards from these sets: Revised / 3rd Edition Revised FWB (French, German, and Italian) Revised FBB (French, German, and Italian) Summer Magic / Edgar" I use my FBB Spanish Bolts ("Relámpago") and in this web says its not allowed, also the Portugueses one ("Raio", i think) or asian ones , but they allow the French, German and Italian versions :/
Surprisingly enough it hasn't happened yet, but I don't know enough about the format to explain why. Perhaps the card is restricted? Wouldn't surprise me.
@ When we drafted Revised, the most powerful card was Millstone vs a 40 card deck. If you’re allowed to run multiple and play defensively, it will be hard to lose. I also don’t know if it’s Restricted
It's rare, so it's max 3 but not otherwise restricted yet. Super annoying to watch you library dwindle and watching your Disenchants all get milled away
For some reason, I mention side boarding in my commentary, but R40 has no sideboards 😅
@@TimmytheSorcerer Then it was a proper move to not sideboard out, hehe
It’s crazy how good early magic design was. Watching these games just feels nice.
🙌
this is such a cool format!
What I like about it is that it's super easy to build decks and in general you have fast explosive games.
would love to see more revised 40 content on this channel!!!
Always fun with Earthquake, it can be an effective board-sweep, and a game winner at times!
True, it was great to take out the Trolls. Felt like I was bowling 🎳 😅
That RW deck is a piece of art.
🙏

15 fog millstone 😅
4:41 -- Understandable. Apparently, Savannah Lions was printed as a common in a couple sets, so it's legal in Pauper. Who woulda' thought?
True power creep
I really enjoyed this and would love to see more R40.
These were fun to play. I’ll try to set-up some more r40, perfect pub format 👍
🎶🎵 Qué Serra ...SERRA ...or WHO'S RED ! 🎶🎵 🤘🦁🤘
that was pure magic :D
🍻
Burn decks with no card draw are very inconsistent. Is there a way in that format to add some?
Howling Mine or few Tomes.
Remember it’s Revised 40 so your options are limited.
Me: **plays LoA**
Opponent: This is R40!
Me: How'd that get in there!?
@@BlueBear0000 Wheel and Black Vise
A question, the rules says you can have "any number of the same common", is this a mistake? You can play 15 or 20 bolts??
Bolts are made uncommon. They have some exceptions. You can find the rules here, northernpaladins.com/r40/

Once someone figures out Millstone, everything will be about Millstone.

I HATE MILLSTONE ... but love the Art on it ..... MILLED to ETERNITY AND BEYOND ! 🚀
