I watched this video about 2 years ago on my phone sitting in my bed and dreaming about buying a camera to be able to work as a camera man or a videographer, I had no camera, no laptop, nothing but my phone back then with few dollars in my pocket while I was working alone as a salesperson in a mall far away from my homeland. I was inspired by creative and professional people like you, then now I'm working by my own with my own cameras and equipment and I'm going forward in this, I'm spending all the money I'm earning since that time on my equipment. my near future is gonna be bright. THANKS A LOT
OMG - not only was the actual interview set up amazing, but the actual content you made, the video at the end - that was absolutely incredible! I felt really emotional. Absolutely inspiring. Truly. Those ladies are amazing. Everything I have just watched was absolutely incredible, thought provoking and inspiring. I never expected anything that I am feeling after watching this. Honestly, this has really made me question myself and inspired me. God bless you and those ladies and that family.
Honestly, I joined FTF during the holidays and have spent the last few months "catching up" on all the basics just to make sure I haven't missed anything myself (been doing videos for 3+ years so kinda know the basics already although I don't always follow them myself). Literally got to this video last week and to me, this SINGLE video is worth the full signup fee. This single video is exactly what you need before shooting an interview, and with only 1-2 paid interview gigs you should have that money back in no time! I've also met 2 other "team members" from Taiwan in the Facebook group and getting this contact network honestly has unlimited value! 10/10 would recommend!
Two incredible things were said here, and it had nothing to do with a camera. "There is a God that knows the needs of his children and hears their prayers and many many times the way he meets their needs...is through us." "Sometimes the small sacrifices we make at the moment can become a life changer for someone else." Thank you for sharing those powerful thoughts.
Parker, thanks for the video! Great step by step tutorial on your setup. More importantly, the makeover stories are truly inspiring! I know you're teaching us how to be better filmmakers, but this is teaching us how to be more generous with the blessings the Lord has given us. May God bless you my friend!
25:15 I'm not crying, you're crying! 🥺🥺🥺💝🥰 Seriously though, this was a very informative video as a whole. But seeing the final cut at the end really tugged on my heartstrings and conveyed the importance of charity and community. Parker captured it BEAUTIFULLY.
Omg! The most powerful part of this video was not even listed in the steps or mentioned in the title. The tech steps informed me, while the power and the vision of the story captured, moved me. Brilliant. Great job through and through👊🙏
Seriously, for what you give people as free content, I can only imagine how in depth and valuable the full course is. Such a great resource for people trying to level up.
I owe so much to this guy! Parker and his fulltimefilmmaker course helped jump start my Production company and career. His success is so well deserved. Thank you Parker. Continued blessings and success to you brother.
Was here at the start of Full Time Filmmaker. I knew it was going to be an easy investment. And I was not wrong. They've added over 1500 different tutorials since I bought the opening sale. Got to work with Parker and truly kicked off my passion and career in video making. Although I'm mostly in editing now. It still is so nice to have all this experience in case you need it. EASY VALUE. I promise.
This tutorial is simply perfect. so many tips in just one video. I also realized just how much work goes into a "simple" interview. I initially imagined it just one light, a mic and good camera. Boy was i wrong.
Great stuff as usual. I'd add one thing I learned after my first 10 interviews or so, the importance of makeup/hair and shirt cleanup. Take the extra 5 or 10 minutes to have the talent brush their hair if it's frizzy or apply some translucent powder if their face is shiny. The hair fix is especially important if you have a prominent backlight. These steps will save some pain in the editing room if that's when you realize the talent had dandruff on their shoulder or sweat on their upper lip. This also highlights the need for good 7" monitor or larger to be able to see these pesky details.
Parker - not only is the tutorial expertly detailed and really helpful, the video at the end had me in tears. I recently joined Full Time Filmmaker for exactly this reason. I want to learn to make films to tell stories that inspire. Bishop T.D. Jakes said “If Jesus was alive today he would probably make movies”.
Your grasp of lighting is really solid and you seem to be a natural at teaching is great. I was also impressed that you were using a video camera and not one of those hybrid still video cameras. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. From an old retired studio photographer from the past. Keep up the great work.
The information was amazing but the video at the end 😭😭😭 I was so moved. May God reward the team that helped that family, you guys are absolutely amazing.
I'm glad I found these videos, although wish I had found them 2 weeks ago. I'm in film School at Full Sail and we are working on a Mini doc now and I have already gotten my interviews done working on B-roll now. But I have learned more from the few videos I have watched than my classes, it's basically same information but these guys make it more enjoyable and easier to understand.
Another incredible tutorial. Thank you! I recently filmed an interview for a client and I instinctively applied 90% of the tips in this video so I’m quite proud of myself!
Since i started watching your channel sir, i have grown and improved immensely in video and film production, i am self taught i love it with all of my heart...God richly bless you sir.
Bruh, how is it that you knew that I needed this video in my life?! Correct composition and setup of interviews is something that I always personally struggle with, so thank you for this gem of a video!
This video was such a learning experience and really the last part had me crying. What a Incredible Tutorial and I'm glad I stick till the end of the video.Great stuff.Loved, learned and cried. Thanks for the video Parker. ❣
Very thorough! People are usually SO SURPRISED when I show up with all my equipment .... HA! Yeah, it's a pain, but worth it. I thought the acoustic panels were a bit overkill, but I also wasn't listening on headphones. Plus, I always use lapel mics, and there's usually less "echo" with them. But overall, very thorough.
After watching the 8-step tutorial, I found myself filled with motivation and inspiration. This led me to immediately set up my equipment for shooting interviews, utilizing the clone effect concept. While preparing, the video continued playing in the background. Suddenly, the real interview commenced, and it was incredibly moving. It served as a poignant reminder of the challenges we've faced this year, particularly in 2023, which has been tough for many people worldwide. I can empathize with the inspiration behind your video, as it resonated beautifully with me. I want to express my gratitude for the effort you put into making this content possible. Well done, and big ups, brother!
Amazing tutorial.... Really, thanks a lot! Your work is unbelievable. And the end... speechless and with tears in my eyes. There's still hope in this world.
Beautiful renovation, beautiful effort from everybody, beautiful people... and it shows in the beautiful video clip at the end I'm subscribing even though I'm not a filmmaker
Great tutorial Parker, and I've been doing this for a long time. One tip I picked up a while back for one-man-band setups is to bring a hair-cutting dummy head and use that as your stand in for rough lighting before talent sits in. I find this gets me 85% of the way, and is a real boon when framing your shot. You just need to set that dummy head's height to the approximate height of your talent and move things around her. Mine is named Eileen, because...um...she can't stand on her own.
Just fantastic information, thank you for sharing. As soon as I have completed your "Course Creator Pro" course I am planning to sign up for your "Fulltime Filmmaker" course... BEST Courses in the WORLD!
Perfect presentation, perfect explanation - I love the before and after shots that support your explanation. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! Please feel very appreciated 🙂
Parker I just want to say, thank you, you just saved my final project for my TV class, now I know how to do an interview on a Drive to survive format, you rock dude!!!!
Thanks dude with the last short story made. Am actually working on my short documentary project, your video just gave me more ideas 💡 for my project. Cheers 🥂. From Australia 🇦🇺
Parker renovates the whole house with all his Equipment for the perfect shot. I am happy when the person is in focus :D Shot a 2Person interview and one of them was out of focus - shiyat... The other "problem" was that one person felt very uncomfortable in front of all the lamps. Very good explenations. Keep it up ;)
This was a really GREAT Teaching tool and it was a beautiful story at the end... reminds me of how the people in my church and community come together. I embarked on learning video so I too can tell these amazing stories.
Don’t forget if the person your interviewing is wearing glasses that key light placement like that will more than likely have some heavy reflections. You’ll have to play with the height and angle of the light to avoid that.
Love Logan's attitude. Some person would say he's bored and dead inside, but he's perfect as a change of the fake people being excited to spend 2h being lit and mic'd up. Also love how it's not overedited, keeping the little cough in here at 15:37, keeps it authentic, nice.
very inspirational and I totally amazed everytime I watched your tutorial and not only that but to give hope for everyones who wants to learn with passion. Salute Parker Walbeck and to all Team!!!
I love the essence taught here. As a beginner, the area where I struggle most is audio and techniques of shooting on the darker side. But now I know better. Thanks #FTF
This is ridiculously good info. I thought I had a good grasp of the interview set up from the previous interview clip but man…I still have a ways to go! Thanks for your dedication to the craft!
Having filmed interviews for 7 years now, I always love seeing Parker’s process. It reassures me that the things I’m already doing are working, and it allows me to pick up new things that I never would have thought of otherwise.
wow ! I found this video so informative, explained in a very clear and detailed manner, this is really my favorite channel, all videos are useful and done in a very professional way. thank you I learned a lot from this video.
Fantastic video I knew this stuff already but I felt like i was being mentored further by someone who is professional. I believe this half hour video for sure will make me a better film maker,
First off, PRAISE YOU for speaking about audio. So many tutorial videos gloss over audio. Also, thank you for talking about treating the space with acoustic damping. A great way to add neg and dampen simultaneously (as well as ditch the hassle of transporting V-flats) is to use sound blankets: best of both worlds.
Your original was awesome, I learned to shoot interviews from it a few years ago. This video was even better for a more advanced shooters with more gear. The sound dampening is an issue with the overhead mics, and the negative fill, and bouncing techniques were super helpful. BTW, sweet crib!
Incredible video Parker! The information is so easily digestible and absorb. Thank you for providing the community with so much valuable information. 🙏🙏🙏
What an amazing video, exceptional content. All I wanted right now was to be fluent in English to be able to absorb everything that is being taught. I can understand but not so much.
I'm not crying, you're crying! Seriously, so glad I stayed to the end of this video. What an awesome thing to do! Great to see people working together to help their neighbor. We need more of that in this world. Best of luck on your doc. The sample looks amazing and inspiring!
Now we want a budget interview version as well
I was going to say the same! Great video tho. I’ll watch the budget one also 👍🏼
One with phone
Lol this is budget!
Window light, one camera and focus on the interview and the conversation.

Pretty much described what I feel right now thanks haha
An updated and more in depth version of an older, classic, Full Time Filmmaker video.. and this is the free one?! Amazing 🔥🔥
Hi I asked u one question, which strobe I use and how i connect the camera ?
@@UgubTv1 you don't

I feel like this guy hates us but gives advice because someone made him do it 😂
This is the most complete video out there. After watching this, I am now confident. From zero to 100 now.
Omg! The most powerful part of this video was not even listed in the steps or mentioned in the title. The tech steps informed me, while the power and the vision of the story captured, moved me. Brilliant. Great job through and through👊🙏

I love learning from Parker. Always bringing so much value!! Thank you.

Don’t forget if the person your interviewing is wearing glasses that key light placement like that will more than likely have some heavy reflections. You’ll have to play with the height and angle of the light to avoid that.
This is a cool reminder to make sure I am not slacking on some of these little details.
❗The most valuable video for all filmmakers, regardless of their level of experience. Everything is super 👏
Wow this is gold! Thank you for so much information free of charge! Will definitely watch again to get more information out of this video.
Side apart of the perfect tecniques, and perfect explanation, it is so beatifull all the project , and all that people are envolved!
A thank you word would be too much lesser than you deserve
God bless you 🤍
Thanks for sharing these steps. I love especially the finished video. Beautiful story. Captured beautifully. Congrats.
Incredible video. Used it for a quick refresher before an important shoot. The kid yawning is hilarious too.

Parker went super extra on this one haha. No way I could carry v flats and sound dampeners around to corporate shoots, but I wish!
Black sound blankets will pull double duty
You really don’t need all of these things to do great documentary, but this good to know
Amazing tutorial...and my gosh that documentary at 25:15 is so powerfully done....thank you!
I've learned quite a lot from this video. Big thanks All the way from Morocco!
Hey! Going to morocco soon! Going to be filming some travel stuff, do you have a drone & licence?
Explanation of Parker is the best!! You are legend!!

Parker! Thank you very much. Yes! I learned something NEW! Yeah!

I cried. Not gonna lie. Such a touching story at the end!
Dude you are amazing at what you do, God bless you bro 🙏🏽 ❤✌🏽
Wow. An interview tutorial that makes you ugly cry. Informed, impressed, and--best of all--inspired.
You and your wife are doing great things Parker. Big ups.

You can't stop the tears? You ok guy?
@@venierjewelers I'm good. It was more a figure of speech to emphasize how much I was touched by the story.

Dude this was so good. Informational and helpful. If I were in the market I would totally check out the extended version on the website
Parker, I was moved by the sample of your mini doc. Great message...great reminder. Thank you.
What an amazing video, exceptional content. All I wanted right now was to be fluent in English to be able to absorb everything that is being taught. I can understand but not so much.
You are The Best! Thank you so much for all tips! I’m watching you from Brazil! 👊🏼😉
LET'S GO! Boss Parker is Back ✅
What an amazingly important and wonderful video. Thank you so much.
