DS2 was my first souls game. Since I started with it, I don't hate it - I feel quite the opposite about it really. One of the core traits that makes DS2 stand out in comparison to the other games is that the whole thing has such an extremely surreal/fever dream like atmosphere. It's nice that this mod managed to capture the feeling.
@@Psychx_DS2 was my very last, playing it for the first time earlier this year. I also didn’t hate it. It has some great stuff, and some really REALLY bad stuff. I would love Bloodborne to get this treatment. Would be so sick. I think Bloodborne looks the worst of all the main Souls games.

Elden Ring is honestly a spiritual successor to 2 specifically, with a lot of the mechanics and aesthetics, down to the cut idea of riding horseback in large areas 2 was going to have. So it's only fitting it feels right at home porting Majula into ER. Easy to forget, Miyazaki was a co director of Elden Ring, the other was Tanimura, who fixed dark souls 2 after Shibuya left it in a broken state. He carried a lot of that core of 2 into Elden Ring.
Fr, I've always felt like Elden Ring had a lot more in common with DS2 than any other souls game, even though Elden Ring's gameplay is largely based on DS3.
Obviously, duh 1) a king consort leading a war against giants on behalf of the ruling queen 1) the last giant specifically 3) the idea of making a fake dragon with aldia swapped for the nox?(correct me if I'm wrong on this one) 4) power stancing lol 5) mountaintops of the giants kinda = to frigid outskirts 6) twinblades These are just some of the most obvious parallels. Pretty sure there's a lot more that just didn't come up in mind as fast
ds2 was an introduction to my souls addiction. this makes me happy, although it has its faults, putting elden ring movement and combat in ds2 will make the game perfect for me!

@@andrelisboa7193 clunky animations are a given in any fromsoft game. And lock on has always had issues in every game when engaging multiple enemies. I don't even know what you mean by the roll as the fat-roll in DS2 is actually the same as the normal 30%+ roll in DS1, like standard roll in DS2 is more agile than standard roll in DS1 at minimum adp. Could be skill issue

In that video you shared the hit box is too large, which is not the fault of the animation. Good animations are highly important for the gameplay of a From Soft game. A good souls-like combat system relies heavily on the animations to the point where if the animations are bad the entire combat experience will feel bad to play. But, modern From Soft delivers some of the best combat in the action RPG genre, the bosses are beautifully animated with creative attacks, good tells in the animations, & engaging attack patterns. The player animations have a good mix of fantasy & realism with weight behind them, without feeling too clunky or restrictive. I’ve found the animations for modern From Software games to be top notch quality. Not saying they can’t get any better but they’re definitely very good.

well as of now you can play bloodborne on pc through an emulator but its iffy and crashes alot .....oh and the frames , theres another option tho , its lesser known and its not really playable , but you can setup skyrim with mod organiser with the core base mods like SKSE and whatnot , then you can download bloodborne assets transferred by a guy to skyrim , its about 15% to 20% of the games map and theres no enemies to fight but it looks otherworldly

This looks awesome. I first played Dark souls when it was released, and dark souls 2 was a bit of a disapointment when I played it, I only got to like 20% of the game and went back to the original one. After giving it another shot (SOTFS update had just been released) and then buying the DLC, I enjoyed it. It has its own atmosphere, different than the other games but still unique. I feel it is an acquired taste, but after you enjoy it, I feel it is even more replayable than the DS1 and DS3. It is probably the one I replayed the most, even though DS1 and DS3 are more epic (boss battles, npc, ost). I remember fondly fighting Velstadt just to find Vendrick in that state with that awesome ost.
When I clicked, I expected this to just be another map port, like putting the Armored Core 6 maps in Elden Ring. Was not expecting an actually playable mod! Going to surprise my friends with this in our next Seamless Randomizer run.

Shame that Elden Ring's magic/caster support doesn't hold up against DS2's system. In DS2, you had: Attunement, not Dexterity, determined Cast Speed. Catalysts had Infusion options Catalyst Shields/Weapons (They could be buffed/infused) No need for damage ring stacking. Armors had non-damage+ effects. Plethora of Spell Restoration options. Spell Merchants are still useful after selling spells. You never felt forced to play as a Spellblade if you wanted to play as a Pure Caster. As a Caster main, DS3 and Elden Ring was quite the disappointment for me.
I will absolutely be using this for my next ER playthrough! Every since ER came out I have dreamed that someone would figure out a way to remake DS2 and DS3 in ER...I really need to start learning how to mod games myself...I have 3-4 days a week off of work and no kids, I have the time to figure it out! lol
Dark Souls 2 definitely needs a remake. Went to replay the trilogy for Elden Ring's release and had to skip over it simply because it controlled so poorly in comparison. The 'turning' mechanic made movement itself feel terrrrrrrrible, and is something no other game in the series has. Couple that with the weird floaty/sliding movement, notably when hit in combat, and it's just so awkward. I have fond (and not so fond) memories of playing it on release, but going back to it nowadays is just a bad experience. Majula is too good to be left like that.
I have a dream that we could rebuild Dark Souls 2 in Elden Ring someday. It's been eating away at me for months. Like Skywind or Skyblivion in Skyrim level overhaul. This is very exciting to see!
Dark Souls 2 was my favorite of the trilogy. I did everything in it, blue flames, parried all bosses, all gear, the invisi-rings, maxed out all covenants and so on. Loved the pvp. If you knew your enemy's weapon and your own you could use raw skill to come back from the brink. I used to love using the majestic GS and bait people into the special moves. But my main was the chaos blade with the flame sword which meant using acetics against sinner at low levels. I would bait parries and stagger my timing on it all the time in pvp. Memories ! I have a dream that we could rebuild Dark Souls 2 in Elden Ring someday. It's been eating away at me for months. Like Skywind or Skyblivion in Skyrim level overhaul. This is very exciting to see!
Dark Souls 2 was my favorite of the trilogy. I did everything in it, blue flames, parried all bosses, all gear, the invisi-rings, maxed out all covenants and so on.
Loved the pvp. If you knew your enemy's weapon and your own you could use raw skill to come back from the brink. I used to love using the majestic GS and bait people into the special moves. But my main was the chaos blade with the flame sword which meant using acetics against sinner at low levels. I would bait parries and stagger my timing on it all the time in pvp. Memories !
