    A true icon among British motorcycles.

    A true work of art- a friend at university had one-old even then- as with all old Brit bikes a swine to start, if it didn't launch you into orbit- but real stump pulling power

    In the mid-1960's my cousin gave me a ride on his Interceptor and the sound of it won me over, that is the "British twin" sound at its best. This 1968 reminds me of my 1972 BSA Thunderbolt as far as kick-starting and gear ratios; fourth gear was right on top of third, easy to get them mixed-up. In May, 2020 I bought a 2020 650INT that now displaces 743cc and have ridden it 35,000 miles so far...love these 750's.

      @@forgottenmotorcycles actually; yes I do. After another couple hundred miles I will drain the Motul mineral oil and begin to switch over to 4T full synthetic. Then the fun can begin! Edit: mid-August and 31,000+ miles total, 4,000 miles as a "750". Very satisfied with the results...

      @@frederickwoods5943 what all did you do to get that 100cc extra?

      @@karthik4773 for the cylinder liners either Darton Liners (California) or Advanced Sleeves (Ohio) ... I have used both .. and Weisco 83.5mm pistons. Or, you can buy the big-bore kit from Parts Giant in the U.S. Some machining is necessary and then it is basic assembly (reassembly) which I have done many times on a variety of vehicles, most air-cooled VW and Porsche. Compared to the stock 648cc it feels like another 250cc. Kit is about $700

    What a privilege to ride such a bike. A smooth sculpted seat like that would look good on the current Interceptor.

    Wow, that sure brought back memories of my '69 Enfield 750 Interceptor. And yes, you sure had to concentrate on the shifting and braking. Incidentally, that tank is chrome under that red stripe as well. Those were as good as it got back then.

    The way I start bikes like that are by standing up on the bike while it's on the stand. Place one foot on the left peg & the other on the kick starter. Then come down hard with your weight towards the lick starter. Much easier using weight than just your upper right leg.

    Is it true tgat interceptor 750 was made for American market?

    • @forgottenmotorcycles

      That's what I've been told. That is wasn't realist in the UK. Not sure if fact or fiction?

    • @pdm2201
      @pdm2201 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes that is my understanding. RE wanted to satisfy the American market’s need for speed. British enthusiasts today will pay good money for one to be shipped back to Britain.
