Thanks so much for joining the family, it means so much to have you here! - We do not obtain permits to set up mock picnics. - We will usually pick up the charcuterie boards ourselves on our way to the picnic location, but they do offer delivery to our home when needed. We like to pick it up ourselves to ensure we remain on schedule. We hope this helps! 😀

New here!! 💃💃 Our (Michigan) laws seem fairly similar to FLs, both outlining no meat and dairy BUT in the video you mentioned purchasing a charcuterie board from a local grocer... so technically we could provide that as long as we use safe handling (cooler to keep temp) and leave it unopened? Hey Grace! Hope all is well! 😀 We found our vendors by simply googling what was in our area. We took time to read their reviews and check out their social media pages. We even went and purchased some of their products before reaching out to test out their customer service and quality. We use both brick and mortars and a smaller vendor. It's totally up to you! We do make sure to check for valid licenses. You can look them up online sometimes, or even discuss it with them while talking about a potential relationship. We hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Hi Brooke, We personally never opened store bought items just to be on the safe side, especially if they included items that are not approved per our cottage food laws. As long as you are staying within your state’s food laws you should be good. We hope this helps!

How much did you invest to start up your business? *Our initial investment was $1000* Did you need a lawyer? *We did have a lawyer look over the contract we created, but that is all.* How long did it take for you to get licensed and legalities completed before you got to doing the fun stuff? *About 2 weeks* How long did it take for you to make profit? *3 weeks* Do you prefer to do business at people’s homes because there is no permit fees? *We consider permit fees in our pricing so it's fine either way to us. We enjoy both. Sometimes we prefer beaches because they are a beautiful blank canvas. Homes are always fun too though.* We hope this helps!
With the cottage food labeling. What if you're baking your own....say... cookies and it's an add on. But I want to set it up on a cute tiered tray. How would I do the labeling? Any suggestions or what you do? Can I make a cottage food law ingredient list on a laminated card and have it attached to the tiered tray? I just want it to look nice and not give them cookies in a plastic container. Not sure if this makes sense.

Hi Celia! We do not have an agreement with Publix. In our area we are allowed to purchase items from stores and deliver them as long as they are unopened to our clients. We recommend contacting Publix to confirm if you need their consent to list their charcuterie boards on your website. We work with a local charcuterie company. We purchase basic items like chips and drinks from Publix and other similar stores so we do not specify Publix on our website. We hope this helps!
