Imagine being so legendary that even 2000 years later you are revered and exalted. Ave Augustus!
The crazy thing is, Rome only lasted about half that time, meaning he has been revered for double the amount of time the great republic/kingdom even existed.
@@koderamerikaner5147Rome lasted from 753 BC to 1453 AD, So it actually lasted much more. 2206 YEARS
@@anda6373 That's if you consider byzantium the same as Rome. And the HRE has just as a strong case as the Byzantines, if not a stronger one, to be the continuation of Rome. So therefore Rome died in 1806?
@@koderamerikaner5147 I mean sure if you count the HRE. But the reason counting the HRE is faulty is because after 1500s the HRE was too divided of a state to be counted as a single entity
@@anda6373 Rome itself was divided, had several civil wars and revolutions, and worked on the concept of local autonomies. Though yeah, in the case of the HRE, imperial authority began wavering heavily after the renaissance. Though, it was enough to keep foreign invaders at bay (most of the time), force Prussia and other kingdoms to state they weren't kings of HRE land but kings inside HRE territory, and establish the Reichsarmee which gave more power to the imperial crown.
One incredibly fascinating thing about Augustus’s reign is that the only time the people of Rome rioted under him, was because the people wanted him to become dictator for life.
This is not even remotely true lmao. He was notoriously unpolular by the people of the Rome until he defeated sextus. Many revokts rebellions and betrayals happened against him and he slaughtered roman citizens brutaly on multiple occasions to crush opposition. He was a dictator and a tyrant
@@mikehulsman4735 dang, the video i got my info from must’ve not been good lol
@@henrico7962 unfortunety yeahh. It was a terrible time for Rome and for the roman people. Lots of betrayal, civil war and unrest. Augustus eventualy united the Roman lands but it was not easy.
And Augustus was probably the only Roman official after Julius Caesar to not loot anything from Alexander the Great's tomb, many other Emperors looted valuable things from the (today unknown) tomb of Alexander the Great
@@henrico7962 Read history books, don't watch TH-cam videos as a primary source of historical info.

The strongest of the warriors and administrators. Emperor Augustus. Made a goddamn month after his name. truly a legend. he was the one of greatest administrators as well as conquerors of Europe.
He was actually a great administrator, the greatest in Rome’s history in fact rather it was his general Agrippa who brought about his conquests. The greatest emperor for conquests was Trajan.
