I worked there for 4yrs and that menu is still in bedded into my mind. Sometimes I order items that the secret shopper would order just to throw off the workers. Lol 😂

That introduction the person says when you drive to order, it changes with each promotion item. Well, the person scores the restaurant based on greeting, suggested up selling on menu items, how the items are prepared when they receive it ( it has to be the proper weight, when people complain 'that's all the cheese I get' lol, it's because it has to be a certain weight once the item is done and wrapped), and the overall entire experience while they are at the store. Every customer has to be a 2 minute or under transaction especially with the shopper. It's a 100 point system that they score you on, and each they take off 5 points with each deduction if taken off. The joys of working fast food. This happens once a month, every month all year long.

I really love the Carmel apple empanada it leans more Carmel than apple for me but it’s so delicious. I wish empanadas would stay on their menu permanently they had a great chicken one a few months ago. I feel like one with potatoes and cheese could be delicious too

I worked at tbell when the Carmel Apple empanada first premiered in the early 2000s (85’ baby here) and I used to toss it in the cinnamon sugar blend for the twists and salt. So it was like a salted caramel apple with cinnamon sugar it was the best menu item ever.
What you said about restaurants crashing the food market is true. I remember when McDonalds came out with the Mc chicken. You couldn't find a 4 to 5 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast in any store.
Yep, to the funeral planning. My younger sister passed suddenly at the beginning of covid. Since then, I have had my funeral all done for my family. I'm 42. Also, that tostada looked delicious, and I should have had more caramel empinadas when I was younger and could eat wheat 😂
You can always ask for your burritos to be grilled. That will help with the flavor and texture. Flour tortillas are always better if grilled/fried in a skillet. You can definitely make the tostada at home. They use some kind of sauce though that makes it taste distinctly Taco Bell. Some sauces are available to buy from the grocery store now though.
100% agree on funeral planning! We have attended so many funerals the last years from close family and extended family. I don’t want my family to be torn making decisions. I want it to be easy and seamless so they can grieve and move on with their lives. Death is hard and I don’t want the planning of my funeral to add to that. ❤️

I don't really eat fast food, but I will say when a local bakery shuttered its doors, I ran to grab every cherry fritter I could and did indeed nosh on them for months. They froze beautifully. I'll bet the empanadas would too, and just pop them in the air fryer/convection oven to revive upon defrosting.
My school also made us do this. We had to write our own obituary and make up what our life "was" like (kids, career, etc.). Maybe it's a Catholic school thing lol. I thought it was weird when it was assigned but it was actually fun doing it. Side note, I also had to plan my wedding in college even though I said I didn't want to get married lol.

Also mincing up some garlic and rubbing it on the arches of your feet. Might sound a little strange but it sends oxygen directly into the bloodstream. Love me some taco bell! Unfortunately, our local one is grossly under staffed and we refuse to go there until they fix it. The Bajaj blast "ice cream" was OK. Waaay too expensive for the size! Tostadas are a classic and should stay! They should bring back the supreme version too! They missed an opportunity to reintroduce the Encharito and the OG cinnamon crisps.

The move at TB is to get whatever special discount box they have because you basically end up with the same flavors any way. I know it's supposed to be pronounced sherBET but my folks are from down south and they call it sherBERT. I think the green sauce burrito would be better with like the fiesta potatoes or maybe some steak or chicken. The gordita is superior to soft taco because the tortilla doesn't get weird. My inner fluffy person wishes they had a vanilla gelato too to go with the caramel apple empanada 🤤😋😅. Checker's (Rally) and Kristal Burger also have a fried apple pie which are delicious too but they don't tickle the nostalgia of Taco Bell's empanada. Maybe the higher price could keep it on the menu without it taking up all of the apples because back in the day it was .99¢ and where I'm at it's $2.99 so now maybe people will buy a couple at a time and not ten. I think if you have an air fryer you could freeze any extras use the defrost setting and then reheat it for a few minutes to get it crispy again. Ooooh or maybe Taco Bell could treat the empanada like how McDonald's treats their McRib and bring it back seasonally but every year.
