    It’s a sad thing these animals have become a nuisance and need to be controlled. Like the wild house type cats, fox, deer and dang bloody pigs. But, it is what it is. Gotta take care of the land and crops.

I’ve seen a lot of great red stag & feral goat hunting videos from New Zealand too but my heart had always been set on Australia & now I know what I plan to do. You guys are doing a great job,the new Federal government (in my opinion) needs to get serious about feral animal extinction and employing large numbers of pro shooters like these guys including aerial shooting and army snipers too,if not farmers and the environment will pay a huge price in this country and more native animal extinctions will be common.

    Is this Western Australia? It's a bloody crime the total restriction of any category D firearms for pest control and farmers that the WA government has decided is the right course of action. Every other state allows semi-automatic rifles for vertibrate pest controllers, and there's a very good reason that's the case. A few guys armed with AR10's would have been able to take out that entire group, but it seems the WA government doesn't care enough about farmers and their struggles in controlling invasive species.

  • @fillthefreezer8413

    100% wouldn't be as much of a camel problem if landowners let more hunters onto their properties, and if they encouraged them as a recreational hunter target, not just for shooting en masse like here. Know so many hunters that would love to fill their freezer with a few hundred kg's of camel meat (tasted it before and it was bloody nice), which is so much better than leaving them out in the desert like this to rot. But so dam often, station owners will only let a precious few hunters on a year to manage the animals, meaning they have to do all the population management at once, and just end up wasting shit tones of meat like this. Pretty far from sustainable management of what should be a valuable resoruce if managed correctly.

    • @outbackgatherer
      @outbackgatherer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately hunters are to be blamed. Well some unscrupulous ones anyway. Farmers often rather pay top $$$ in engaging aerial culling where they are paid and job done. Clean. There are so much rigmarole with cowboys. Insurance, injuries, damages, abuses, alcohol, and the list goes on. Just not worth it. Thus cocky will only allow trusted people whom they have known for years. Not unless a farmer who wish to turn this into a hunting lodge as a side income. But even this there are mountains of rules and regulations to be complied with. Yes this topic has been around for years....

    Seems to be a very slow and inefficient way of culling these animals. Helicopter herding and shooting makes more sense, surely? And ofcoruse easier to coordinate the use of the excellent meat that way too.

    • @outbackgatherer
      @outbackgatherer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes cant agree more with used of choppers. Choppers/Aerial are still predominant & preferred mean of culling. Hunters only here to assist in a very small way. Unfortunately with choppers culling no meat will be harvested!! The terrains are mostly inaccessible or practical for on land recovery.
