    I picked up night vision banockulars at wallmart for around $200. I been thinking about getting some for yrs and finally bit the bullet. My thaughts is they could be a very useful tool to see the bad guys coming around at night before they see me. They would come in handy during shtf for security and for hunting or just trying to get somewhere without being seen at night. They definitely have a place for prepping.

      @Sicsemperevello Mortemtyrannis If you found it irrelevant, then you need to reevaluate your faith. We're in the end times, and while channels like MP do a great job of sharing knowledge in physical preparation, as followers of Christ, we must not forget *the most important preparation of all and that is spiritual preparation*
      Judgement day approaches and The Lord shall soon return. Prepare your hearts, repent and trust in Christ.

    Its so bad that you would not want to go into combat with that. More like recon and not getting caught(hope the enemy is smoking a very large cigar). Anything less then gen 3 is not worth the money. A gen 3 plus is great, you can wear it on your head so hands free. Works well with IR laser on your rifle. Save your money and by a decent set. Nothing below gen 3. It is a night and day difference.

      Good, better, best. $70 for a Gen 1 isn't bad. If you have an extra $2,500-$3,000+, then yeah. Definitely go for Gen 3.

    • @mrnobody5381
      @mrnobody5381 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Inch Grundle Can you mount it on your head and walk or run thru the woods at night doing battle drills? Nope. Good for a sniper, but in a combat situation you need to shoot move and communicate. With my gen 3 plus and dbal i can shoot targets out to three hundred plus meters. During my time as an infantryman i used the same setup and always got a 40 out of 40 on the night firing range. I also experienced using gen two nods and they really sucked. Almost not even worth it really. The longest shot i made at night was 600 meters, with a modified M16a4 that was issued to me as a squad designated marksmen.The Dbal is really a game changing unit combined with Gen 3 nods. Save your money, shits not gonna run out and this election will come and go.

    • @mrnobody5381
      @mrnobody5381 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Inch Grundle Never used a nvg mounted to the weapons system. Never really ran and gunned. Used buddy teams and IMT movement techniques. Never really running very far, the whole i'm up he sees me i'm down kind of thing. My rifle had an ACOG 3 power scope with the passive illuminated reticle. I never looked thru it with the night vision. No reason to when the IR laser i was issued was just outstanding really. Higher power then the civilian stuff. Light discipline is important, so moving with your laser on was not something you did(Momentary). And we trained like the enemy had NVGs, because they did have some captured equipment and Russian models. Still, experiencing my unit for the first time i was issued a gen 2 unit at first and it was terrible. Night missions went so much smoother when we where upgraded to gen three. People would get lost using the gen 2 stuff. We are all supposed to be in a line crossing the objective and Joe over there was literally going the wrong way. If your gonna spend the money for Gen two then i would just save another thousand for gen 3. Then the IR laser of course. I remember some of the training i did with the gen 2 was so bad i just took them off and used copious amounts of tracers.

    For slightly more you could get a pn-1 Ukrainian made night vision spoting scope. Runs on normal batteries and you can see everything, but with some fish eye effect. It is a starlight type scope gen 1+ I think it was. I've used it while hunting to identify animals before sunrise.

    I have a few pair of pvs14, and a pair of thermal monocular. I know. That's a ton of money, but they are worth every penny. If you cant afford it this would definitely suffice. Make sure you get a good laser illuminator. I run the Steiner dbal. If you want something cheaper but still has Streamlight 69191 TLR-VIR II for about $400. Dont go cheap on the weapon mounts. If you need it and it wont hold zero will get you killed

    • @thaisoverthehill
      @thaisoverthehill 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious if you have any night vision capable red dots or lpvo scopes and if you can see a reticle with them. Also looks like it wouldn’t be too hard to possibly mount that to a helmet in a bad case scenario, idk about anyone else but I don’t have $40,000-$60,000 laying around for a set of nods.
