Thanks for demoing with a more traditional bass and some classic, thick bass tones. The other demo I just watched used an active Spector or some such thing with that "modern" frog-croak tone..
I am ordering the Rocket 110, 50 watt for my home set up. I love Everything I've ever owned from Yamaha and Im excited their team is running Ampeg! I own two large stereo receivers (the R-S700 I've had for maybe 10 years now) and two TRBX bass guitars (174 EW and 504). They really know audio electronics like few other companies and they are one of the most respected (and the largest) musical instrument companies in the world. can't wait to try it out!
I wish Ampeg would do what Fender did with the Tonemaster series and just put a perfect digital emulation of an SVT in a super portable lightweight package. I’d pick a digital SVT emulation over these sterile transistor overdrive circuits any day.
swapped 8 ohm speaker for an eminence CA154 (4 ohm) to access the full 200 watts internally, major improvement, works flawlessly. 🙂 Tone is just like my older B100R but louder and 1/2 the weight.
Yamaha's an awesome company that makes quality gear at an affordable price, and have for years. Definetly checking these amps out! Wonder how they sound vs the Rumbles.
Really wish they'd be honest about the output of the 210. It's not 500 watts unless you add a cab to it. Maybe a lot of people know that going in, but to look at their sweetwater listing you'd have no idea. I had the BA 210 which was listed at 450 watts and it played more like about 200.
I mean...it's still honest. You get watts (speaker load measured in ohms) by how much output voltage from the amp. When you add a speaker it doubles the load from 8 ohms to 4 ohms which is more strain on the amp. It doesn't give the amp more power it just determines the max load the amp can handle. Like a circuit breaker...
I think Ampeg realized they had to completely revamp their bass line after watching Fenders Rumble series skyrocket in sales.... Reverb's best-selling bass amps of 2020 Fender Rumble 40 Fender Rumble 100. Fender Rumble 15. Ampeg BA210-V2 Combo. Ampeg BA-108 Combo. Fender Rumble 500. I always liked ampegs...
When I was comparing between the two a couple of years ago, the Ampeg BAs sounded miles better than the Rumbles. I'm guessing the Rumbles sold better because maybe they do that "modern" bass sound better or something, but to me the Ampegs have the *classic* bass sound. I hope they never cave in and start chasing that modern frog-croak bass tone players today seem to love so much.
@@darwinsaye yes exactly the Fender does the modern sound a lot better for sure I own the Rumble 500. But the Ampeg on the other hand has a gorgeous Vintage tone from the 60’s which the Fender can’t do. Both awesome amps! I just got the RB110 model of these.
I was gonna buy a PF500 but was scared about the reliability issues I was reading. I wonder if these are gonna be more reliable since Yamaha took them over? The 500 with an extension cab would be one sick rig.
First of all: Awesome sounds! But..... I was about to buy a BA115 not just because of the sound but also because the BA series have a front control panel and an aux level control. Both gone in the Rocketseries?
Great question. I assure you, the RB-115 and RB-210 handle the low B swimmingly. The other SKUs as well, but the RB-115 and RB-210 are more recommended for high volume performance with a 5 string.
@@etyramone2000 no problem. I was going to buy one about 5 years ago. But quite a few musicians I know all had problems with them. Maybe one lucky musician didn’t. But the failure rate was too high for my confidence.
They felt threatened by the Fender Rumble line, who unlike BlackStar , actually matter - no offence. These are Fender Rumbles w/ Ampeg features. Best thing they've done in years.
Wow... no pre/post for the di, no master volume, no tube in the preamp("Ampeg Legacy preamp" lmao), only 3 bands of eq, apparently having two separate inputs is a big deal now, and there are plenty of amps that weight the same if not less. Way to go Yamaha.
I dare you to play one and hear the difference :) .I think you will be happily surprised! We also have USA Ampeg products via our Heritage and Pro Neo line.
@@liberatimusic I bought the 50th anny svt... it's nice, and somewhat built in the US but, it will be my last ampeg purchase, due to job losses and work being expedited to Asia. They should just drop the ampeg name altogether and call them what they are. YAMAHA amps.... built in CHINA. as not to mislead the public. Gunna get Aguilar, Reeves and Hiwatt rigs from here on out.
@@liberatimusic In the end, AMPEG was an American company, and is now part of and asian company and culture. I take extra time with my clients explaining this and educating them on better for America company's. and so, If they must use AMPEG, I recommend the MADE IN AMERICA older used AMPEG gear. as it IS, the real AMPEG sound.
this a day of joy for bass players
Ok
Congrats, Dom, Dino and team!!! 👏👏👏🤘😜👍
Well these look pretty perfect. One suggestion for a future update: speaker out on the 108, and a 108 extension cab = mini rig of doom.
I hope these do great. I still have my Rocket from the late 90's.
These amps sounded great!
So proud of this team. Thank you all! Let the Rocket Games begin...
I bought the rb-108 for my livingroom.
Perfect!
Lovely...

I played the 115 today and man, does this thing sound phenomenal and it’s so light.
That yamaha bass sounds pretty sweet
yamaha already makin great moves. this is just what the brand needed. way to go yamaha!

They do tend to make stuff that is very dependable, which is a far cry from recent years of Ampeg.
Very nice, they sound really good
Ohhhhh......I'm in!!! Ampeg......always Ampeg.....
Are these meant to replace the BA series?
Ow sweet! When will they be available in Europe, the Netherlands? Are the sales prices for Europe also known?
Thinking of buying the 30w combo which will be great for playing at home. Will it be enough for small scale low key jam or open mic sessions?
Sounds great👍
Love Ampeg amps. Want to buy one soon.

yeahhh
Finally! Thank you!
I've owned the RB210 for just over a month and I love it. If I wanted to and an additional speaker cabinet to it, what would you recommend?
So nice!
Are they back?? I had one of these for YEARs, they were phenomenal.
Great updated line. Still would love some wheels on the bottom for convenience.
The heaviest model weighs 39lbs. (like the Fender Rumble 500) - they figured the casters wouldn't be needed.
Nice Demo 👍
Between the 112 and 115 what are the main differences beside the ext cab connection. Torn between which of these 2 to buy. Is the tone the same?
You’ll go well with the 112 … I think it’s a lillte more deep and very slightly scooped … it’s what I like
Does anyone know how easy it is to remove the front grill? My 112 arrives tomorrow!

Am such a huge fan of Bass Amps. I would love to see you all make this Into a plugin format..
what kind of cab would you suggest using with the 115?
with two inputs can i do the royal blood sound with just one amp?
Noob question: would these handle the low-B of a 5-string? Potentially down-tuned to G? I did notice Dom didn't play the B-string much, kinda sus...

The B even sounded surprisingly good on the 108... I was really surprised. I just tried in the shop. Definitely want the 112 or 210. I was impressed
I wanna know who makes that 5 string?
I’ll take one of each please!! I’ll use ‘em..Trust Me!!
4 Sure!!! ✌
Very cool, but no mid selector, damn.
Hallelujah 👏👏👏
Nice!!!!

Sorry about that and thanks for the heads up..
is this a remake of portaflex? never heard of rocket bass
Originally sold in the 1990s when Ampegs were made/sold by SLM Music in St.Louis.
Why is the 108 heavier than the 110?
Different wood thickness. Rumble does the same. Barely a difference when picking up both super lightweight combos.
Are these Analog or Class D? The 115 has me curious.
Class D power
Yep everything bass is Class D now, . . . Like the Fender Rumble amps, & pretty much everything else out there now.
I'm still enjoying my TC BG250 210 combo amp with 2 tone print slots, xlr out, auxiliary in, and smart 3 band eq with a weight of only 20kg.
Sadly they're not for sell anymore, I wonder why
@@etyramone2000 they had a tremendous amount of warranty, and sadly out of warranty repair issues. They sounded great when they worked though.

yessssss Eminence speakers
is it a tube amp?
No.
I still like the sound of the BA series better
Is it worth paying $900 for a 200 watt amp?
Not if it's made in CHINA
Considering you can get a pf500 and portaflex 210 or 115 for less... no definitely not
confused about where you are getting the pricing for Rocket Bass? The 200-watt RB-115 is $529
Do want.
Hi
So Ampeg basically took Fenders Rumble Series, added some weight, removed some controls, and made them look Ampeg-ish.
I think if you have a chance to A/B compare these to Rumble, you will be shocked at how not the case that is.
No.
When I demoed these they sounded much better than the Fender
I think Ampeg felt threatened by Blackstar's Unity line of combos 😂
They felt threatened by the Fender Rumble line, who unlike BlackStar , actually matter - no offence.
These are Fender Rumbles w/ Ampeg features. Best thing they've done in years.
@@butchjackson4428 I played all three lines including the fender rumble series, and the blackstar unity line is by far superior.

Why would you want stinkin tubes in your bass amp? What kind of weirdo are you? (squinting) Or maybe you are a guitarist pretending to be a bassist?
Too bad no Bluetooth (wireless headphones), i guess a receiver is fine. good price points too! (Considering...)
There are no wireless headphones in existence with low enough latency for live music applications.
Bluetooth has to much lag to use correctly with an instrument amp, which is why no one does it.
Thanks for the responses!
