Because having 2 batteries of different sizes is a complicated system. The 1.5 kwh portable battery might not be able to supply power fast enough for high speed sonic mode. So maybe they limited it to just Eco mode. But that means only 3.5 kwh battery for higher speed driving.

The Removable battery 1.5 kwh can only be used in Eco mode. So other modes can only use 3.5 kwh fixed battery
