My favorite teacher was world history. He was talking about WWII ... He was a soldier so we got first hand knowledge of what it was like. He made history come alive for us. His favorite saying was Diarrhea of the mouth constipation of the brain. Meaning if you keep talking over him you won't learn anything.
I was a 7th grade English teacher for years. One day we were reading a book out loud and within the story there was a passage naming a town called Hell. The student refused to say the name because it was a "bad word". I explained that it wasn't , but simply the name of a place. The class evolved into a discussion of how commonly used words could evolve into bad meanings, ie: curse words. Being a history and trivia need I explained how the words we use today as cuss words were twisted into such. 16:28 First example was BITCH, meaning a female dog. This evolved into a derogatory word to use against women. We went through them hell, ass(hole), bitch, etc. Naturally, one student called out and said you missed one. Knowing which one he meant, the F bomb, I told him no there is a VERY clear explanation. He challenged me to explain and I accepted his challenge! Back in the dark ages property, titles and money could only be held by men, hence the need for a male heir/child. With the church holding power of damnation over kings, adultery was punishable by death. So a husband whose wife failed to produce a son for him would petition the church and king to be allowed to have a child with another women. If given there would be a letter given to the man and woman that stated, "Fornication Under Concent of the King" so no adultery charges could be brought against them!!! The student shut up, sat down and said " well played"!! One of the best days of my career!❤
I have been out of school 30 years this year and I remember my freshman year, my school used to have bunny and reindeer runs (basically male students with masks on would run naked in front of the high school), during the bunny run, one of the participants tripped over one of the wires that were used to support a tree, that student was eventually suspended because after the run ended and the guys returned, the one that tripped, went to the school nurse because of the cut he got from the wire. Moral to the story, if you run naked while wearing a mask in front of the school and get injured, don't go to the school nurse for said injury!!! #bear #brownthing #nice
When I was in high school, if you got clapped at in the hallway it had a WHOLE different meaning. Apparently there was a case of the ‘clap’ that passed through some of the popular students. Ironically though, we were the Home of the Trojans LOL 🤦🏻♀️ Elementary school we went as a class to our 2nd grade teacher’s house for a water slide party and bbq during school hours. Also, I still use twat it’s too funny not to use. My Mom and I will say it to each other, my boyfriend and I do it too. We get looks with some of our comments and inside jokes. If I could go back and redo high school I’d for sure buckle down more so I could graduate on time. Because Chris’ nightmare was my reality, I was short two credits and had to go back a semester. It sucked big time! I had some pretty good teachers, and it’s sad to think we probably wouldn’t be able to talk the same way or do some of the things we did then, nowadays. My son’s off to my old high school after 10 years at the same elementary school I attended, in a few weeks. #Nice #Bear #BrownThing PS. East Texan here. Yep, our high school had a sign off on punishments. I graduated in 2014 so don't know if they still have it. Some of the coaches had paddles with holes drilled in them and if you got into trouble you were sent to one of those coaches classrooms for paddling and then you had to sign it.
It was almost a quarter of a century ago now, but I got in trouble and as a very young elementary student I had to clean out the school's outdoor drainage ditches with my bare hands. I had forgotten about that...

Happy birthday Austin! My favorite 6th grade teacher was married when I started that year. She took all the students to a week long class trip to “outdoor school” (we learned about nature and how to take care of the environment) she had an affair with one of the counselors. Long story short, it ended her marriage and she ended up pregnant and living with the guy. I think he was a good 10 years younger but not a student #nice #bear.
In my 6th grade class, our teacher would throw the chalkboard erasers at whoever was talking during class or interrupting him. If you were bad enough, he also had a desk in the front corner, facing the corner away from everyone else if you were bad enough.!
In the mid 90’s I went to school down south and they were aloud to paddle students. There were never any issues in any of the schools I attended down there.
We had a teacher in the 80's that picked a student up from the desk and threw him across the room because he was mouthing off. He got reassigned to work in the library instead of getting fired. We had corporal punishment at our schools growing up.
So this is from personal experience. Let me preface this with stating that I was in show choir and all forms of theater throughout high School. The guy I was dating at the time have the middle name Kent and the same birthday as the original Superman. So it was a given that my nickname was Lois Lane. It was right before Thanksgiving and I was leaving early for a family trip and I went to go clean out the theater room and collect my belongings. One of my belongings happened to be a Superman thong. (I was in 10th grade) I then went to my 10th grade history class and was pulled out to take a test so that I can leave early for vacation. I threw everything into my bag and ran to the classroom to take my test. This was the period right before lunch. Apparently I forgot one item.... The aforementioned Superman thong. I went to lunch and continued to get side looks from some of my classmates and very weird comments. I figured out what had happened and found the teacher which was not only a 10th grade history teacher but also a wrestling coach. He said come back right at the end of lunch and we will go retrieve it. I entered the classroom to find my thong hanging from the doorknob. (The classroom was full with the next period of students) I quickly retrieved the item threw it in my bag and was very grateful to leave for vacation. Only to return from Thanksgiving break with the thong song blaring as I entered the room. I can never listen to Cisco again without remembering that day #brownthing #bear
Tennessee has corporal punishment to this day. we had to sign a piece of paper either opting out or allowing it during elementary and middle school. I believe Alabama does as well.
In 5th grade we use to line up outside before school would start and sometimes they would let us play teather ball the game where you hang a ball to a caribeaner clip and play against one other person and see who can hit it all around the poll before the other person could and one day the teacher assistant that was kinda mean was on morning duty and it was middle of winter and she had to unclip frozen underwear off of the pole that someone the night before put on there it was gross but still remember to this day and I’m 35 now
My grandma was a teacher back in the day and got fired for grabbing a kid by the neck and putting him up against the wall because he was being a twerp in class and she had had enough.
#bear I am a teacher and last school year we had a student poop himself and shake the turd pebbles out of his skinny jeans while walking in the halls. His friend then stomped on the poo pebbles and squish it into the carpet. The video is hilarious.
Few years ago a student asked a counselor why his face looked like Satan's taint. Only day I was happy to have a mask on, it hid my laughter and shock. #nice
Hey guys, When my daughter was in year 2 now in high school, she was late for school so I had to drive her there I dropped her at the classroom then went to the Office to report her being late. On my way back to the car I clearly herd the PE teacher boasting to his mate music teacher that he does not stop the kids full on fighting for his own entertainment . I reported this to the female Principal and all she had to say was " It is your word against theirs " then told me to leave WTF, I think they were known as good teachers in their Subjects but I know what is happening behind closed doors. I had a history teacher in 8th grade, 74/75, who would walk into the classroom, turn off the lights and tell the black kids to smile. Then, he would throw blackboard erasers at them. All of the kids loved him, black kids too, and didn’t have a hard time with it. They actually encouraged him to do it everyday. 😮
I’m a Para-educator and last year a kindergarten student spit a mouthful of broccoli in my face as I was telling him where to sit. I was mid sentence as chewed broccoli went down my throat.🤢🤮
