In full 'battle rattle' with the flak vest or Chem suit when it was over 100F, you couldnt drink water fast enough. Oh, and no cup holders either. The later civilian models were a bit more practical (if you could think of a Hummer being practical anyway). The gas mileage on the H2s seem no worse than the 2012 F-150 5.0 currently in my driveway. Its getting about 15mpg. But you cant really expect a vehicle weighing nearly 6K pounds to be economical. Thats why my daily gets 36mpg.
Gm was right it was a military vehice that was meant for open spaces and warzones. I admit the hummer is cool but i dont really feel bad for it dying out it just wasnt meant for civilian life people want easy to drive and park cars with good mph not a mini truck.
I know some of the bad stuff about the Hummer (though not the extent) but the videos you showed of the military hummer doing stuff that no car should be able to do were, no lie, extremely cool looking. No reason to buy one and no excuse to drive it around a city, but I now get the appeal.
