Max Shulman wrote a Dobie Gillis episode in year 4 where Dobie pretended to be a drunk or in other vices to keep an attractive social worker interested in him.The show ended with the social worker staying with him because he was a chronic liar. (Typical Shulman irony.)
Back when you couldn't use the word f..k as a noun, verb, and adjective in every sentence, the dialogue was very smart, witty, and refreshing. Different times and culture.
