I've said it before and I'll say it again. Getting OG Anunoby back was more important than getting Julius Randle back. With OG the Knicks are the 2nd best defensive team behind Minnesota. What they will need is other guys to step up to help replace Randle's scoring. That means Devo and Hart and McBride and Bogdonivic must shoot the ball well to help Brunson. OG must score also besides playing great defense. But it's on Jalen to be efficient and shoot over 50% like last night. If they can do that they can make the NBA Finals.
As a Boston fan (all Boston teams) the knicks scare the shyt out of me as well. Because there is this cope going that we didn't try last night. Each game is different but they sure damn tried. I've seen almost every celtic game this year to know this. We got our butts kicked, it happens, but dont lie about. That's the scary part.
Brunson only played 3 quarters and I dont want to hear any cope from Knick haters - He was the best player on the court. Boston has an incredibly deep team. They got shooters coming from every direction. Payton Prichard came into the game and absolutely cooked the Knicks. But if the Knicks and Celtics meet in the ECF, the best player on the court will not be Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown. It will be Jalen Brunson
Said perfect from a nets fan... Theres no way this season can be a major disappointment, we havnt sold our whole team and draft picks for 3 soft/sensitive superstars. We still have all our draft picks and alot of team frendly contracts. Well be good no matter what. Go knicks!!!!!

Still, this team CAN make a deep tracking to the 'ship! They are currently locked in to do such.

The Knicks feels eerily similar to my 2019 raptors (sigh) even if you’d instinctively dismiss Brunson of being anywhere near as elite as someone like Kawhi.
even if this team loses early on (God Forbid). i would still see the season as a win. Team got a lot better, played and won, through the worst injury bug ive seen since being a fan of the team, and could really build on it next season and become a powerhouse.
This type of talk scares me. The Knicks could definitely get to and compete in an ECF against Boston, but they could also be picked off in a first round series. We've already seen them take Cleveland, and Orlando may just be too young, but Indiana, Philadelphia or Miami don't pose a threat? There's not a whole lot separating all these teams, especially the latter two who don't seem to put a whole lot of stock in the regular season.
The only caveat are the Philadelphia 76ers. I believe the Knicks can beat the Bucks and Celtics but I think if Philly plays the way they were playing to start the season they could be a problem for the Knicks especially without Randall.

if i had to pick one. i would honeslty pick a 80% OG over 100% randle in the playoffs. Provides more to winning and much less risk
