- Today i do a deep dive into the settings on THE FINALS. i wanted to explain a few things that i see a lot of people misunderstanding. As well as explaining DLSS and other Settings in depth to better increase your performance. By the end of the video you should have the best settings to boost your fps in THE FINALS

Im loving my time on THE FINALS, playing a lot of light and sometimes medium whenever i am playing with friends in tournament mode or ranked. I also do a lot of commentary type videos.

notes that i forgot to mention:
RTX global illumination static makes the inside of buildings very dark as off now (theres a chance they change it in the future) so for better visibility, and i mean it makes a big diff, you can set it to dynamic low if you have the headroom
also i found out today, for me at least, if you cant get a stable like 75-90 fps then you should really think about limiting your game fps to 60 in side nvidia control panel. i did that and god it feels soooo much smoother. should help lower frame timing which is much more important than fps!

The game could use better optimization for fps get.
Personally rarely ever use any of the upscaling tech, i prefer just pure rasterization and most times use low settings. Only use FSR 1.0 in OW2 and only for the added sharpness it gives😆
I'm just using gameusersetting for The Finals to set the fps limit to my monitor, works great!

bro this is actually pissing me off. that and forced taa... my god so annoying. blurry fricken image. im confused though isnt TAAU 100 the same as no res scaling? i noticed that it might be after i made the vid. the settings menu in this game is like the MW2 attachments menu LOL
Yes and no; it has no ress scaling, yes, but TAAU still has antialiasing, so you get it's artefacts ( like blurry image and jagged edges).
Ye i figured it was just TAA with an extra u... Lol i hate taa man. ESPECIALLY FORCED TAA. 🤣

hey man ofcourse! anytime. its werid that yours doesnt show. but you can get the same info if you just open up task manager on another monitor or even better just pull up the nvidia overlay to show you the stats. i think that was like alt z to pull it up. but u do need geforce experience for that. either way dont get to carried away with the numbers to much :D
i actually dont have a disc broooo i wanted to make one for a while but just havnt had the time to build and manage that. hopefully in time i will tho

Another point I forgot to mention, I think this game is a cpu based game which is annoying to hear. I have the same issue like u have. Currently running a rtx 3060 mobile and a ryzen 5600h. It's a laptop 😬
So to answer ur rirst question its pretty much low every thing except rtx global illumination thats on dynamic low for visibility. Then i use dlss qual. Once i build my pc this might change tho
But ya i think ur right its very cpu intensive as most competive fps's. Ur cpu is better than mine u shouldnt be bottlenecking it. I mean maybe if u have other things open like chrome or obs that could be having sn impact.
Lowering res should actually give u better fps IF ur not maxing out ur cpu. Cuz if ur cpu is fully used it wouldnt be able to push more frames anyway right. But u could just use dlss instead since thats just a more sciency way of lowering res lol.
In all honesty ill look into if ur cpu is getting thermal throttled cuz thats quiet come on laptops :)

@@YouSame2 I just changed my in-game settings and it's pretty smooth for now. I'm getting a stable 90 frames, I just applied native resolution with medium textures and distance. Nvidia dlls on balanced and 1980x1080 res.
Btw on what u said by applying dynamic low. For some reason I'm getting way better frames by keeping it on static. Im atleast getting a 10% fps boost by changing it into static. Thanks for the help tho 💪

RTX on low gives you quite the advantage while breaching rooms. Light slowly fills the room while in static it's pitch black, and you can't see shit. the higher you go the faster the light comes in. I have a 6600xt and the RTX it's impacting quite a lot the fps, but i was surprised i could get 100+ fps while using this. tho i have some really bad issues on a map which i think it's bugged, my fps go to 15 and litterally might crash and stop my entire system from working. And hold this in your mind im on a 21:9 monitor, so if you have a better gpu than me and a 16:9 monitor, then you can go up with the RTX.

It is easier to give recommendations if you actually provide your pc specs! Also sound's to me you would want to upgrade your gpu, 2gb vram is not doing you any favor now a days!

Why no matter what setting Im trying, my fps is ALWAYS 120. I tried everything and cant get stable 144. Rtx 3070 ryzen 5800x 32gb 3600 and nvme. Fr its always the same fps no matter what
Cpu/ram bottleneck. Best thing you can do is make sure your ram config is fine and your windows is clean. 2x8 or 2x16 and make sure XMP enabled. At least 3200c16 ram speed. Other than that, you just need to upgrade to a 5800x3D
This game is just really werid im assuming since they do a lot of things server side that might be why

I have a 5800x3d and 3070 ti, i do get decent fps and a higher gpu utilization, and not as negatively affected as some of you guys, i somewhat get 165 fps on my 1440p monitor. Veil OW2 and Apex are older games and not with full on destruction , i do not have any issue what so ever running way above the 165 fps on 1440p. I still think The Finals could be better optimized!
