This role play was a nightmare Brendan. I won’t say what it was. But the scenario didn’t have anything to do with policing. It was a situation for social services or a school councillor or some other agency. Very frustrating, as I done excellent in the neighbour dispute scenario.
I would have thought that a police officer's role these days is largely that of a social worker, combined with personal adviser to the underclass, so the role play sounds about right (and that's not my words, the words of many police officers quoted in the 'Wasting more police time' book.
