The Zipper is one of the easiest rides to set up and break down... Everything raises and lowers in one piece onto a single trailer, cars included... A well seasoned set-up guy could do the whole thing solo in about half an hour, an hour at the most... That's probably one of the reasons why you see so many of them at carnivals...
I helped take down & load up the Tango ride right after the last ride of the night. Hey, much respect to those workers. Guy guys that work very hard. It took us a little under 5 hours to pack it up. Alot of it was staging the main platform. All of the bars, rails steps & wood. . some dissembling and crane work to load the seat . heavy duty shit.

Definitely have never seen those style scenery panels on a Zipper like that. They may have had them custom made, but I do like the looks of that Zipper, any Zipper ride really. =) Though, i'm more of a fan of the classic Chance Sky Diver, the Zipper's cousin. To those wondering....it's the Ferris Wheel-like ride that sits on a scissor-lift frame ( 2 scissor frames ), and the cages look car-like with steering wheels inside for flipping / rolling them. Sky Diver is taller, but is a 2 trailer ride, where-as the Zipper racks onto just one trailer. I guess that's why Sky Divers are becoming obsolete now. :(
I LOVED the Sky Diver to look at but NOT ride on it! I was too fearful of the heights and spinning in mid-air. Where I lived in San Jose, CA., West Coast Shows, Foley and Burk Shows and Butler Amusements were the main carnival companies when I was growing up. Yah, you rarely see the Sky Diver and many other classic carnival rides of the past anymore and what a shame.
We have a carnival every year at a five start rating ranch it's very popular and the rides are free and the food is free and Mexicans run the rides I can relate to them there nice
