As someone who at 31yrs old had to have everything removed by a hysterectomy and bilateral oopherectomy due to PCOS and endometriosis and a constant period for 9 months post partum this was the husband I needed! Not the husband I got who insisted periods were 'natural' and not as painful as I 'made them out to be' and told me that I should 'walk it off' because I was 'unfit'!
Only thing he cared about was getting his rocks off.
I now have a brain tumour that I'm receiving chemotherapy for a cerebral aneurysm, EDS, RA, OA, I've also lost my sight in one eye, I'm about to have complete bilateral knee, hip and shoulder replacements after 27 years of marriage I have now left him 😳
Unfortunately because I'm now homeless I've had to leave my children too 😔

Same! Walking sticks are useful too. Like you never know when you may need to defend yourself when you're out walking, plus they're handy when you're walking on rough terrain. Plus that particular one has a bonus compass. I would be absolutely furious if my husband came out of the store with a walking stick/staff and didn't also buy one for me (unless he wanted me to pick out my own, of course).

(Though there were two other adult children and two grandsons, they rarely helped care for their father/grandfather. Everyone seemed to assume that my brother would do it. Of course, the dementia caused gradual decline and the FIL became increasingly belligerent over time.) My brother was incredibly loving and was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. (He often carried meals to Kroger, where my SIL worked. He knew she didn't always take breaks for meals or snacks.) He remembered birthdays and anniversaries, and he bought flowers and gifts (even for no particular reason). He was highly intelligent, had many talents, was very loyal, and had a great sense of humor. He played guitar, wrote songs, and sang beautifully. He was handsome and well-mannered. Both of his stepsons took advantage and regularly asked for money. One was a drug addict with 5 kids and a baby mama, and the kids were in and out of foster care. My brother had CLL and was treated for a miraculous 28 years, and his doctors attributed it to his impeccable hygiene and also following doctors' orders. So, here is the kicker: My SIL was selfish and inconsiderate, and she brought her Dad into their house after he tested positive for COVID and was also diagnosed as having the flu. His SIL (who worked where drug trials were conducted) and her daughter visited in spite of the fact they didn't feel well. The following day, they tested positive for COVID. (The day after that, they were notified that a Pfizer rep was positive for COVID.) My brother (who was just 60 years old) was infected, and he died about 3 weeks later. Tomorrow (1/23/2023) is the 2-year anniversary of his death. My SIL has never taken accountability. What's more, my brother still has no headstone/marker. I take some delight in knowing that my SIL has admitted that she took for granted what a gem she had. My brother was my best friend, and my heart is still broken over losing him. The day I die will be the day my grief will end.
Our deepest condolences. My dear man was a thoughtful man, too. He took wonderful care of me after I was in a devastating MVA. He was stricken by a massive stroke and passed a week and a day later. It seems like the good ones go way too soon, and the thoughtless leaches hang around past their welcome.
