      @@nochillmustafa hey dude here's a vlog idea.... obviously if you live here you've been out to the coast.... did you know that in the 70s they tried to build a nuclear power plant at the bodega head thankfully Sebastopol stopped it because they wouldn't have the truck the nuclear waste through Sebastopol however the head where the hole is where they were going to build the nuclear power plant is still there you have to walk a little bit to get to it but trust me it's worth it I have a few more hidden gems here in Sonoma County for instance did you know there's a hidden missile base no shit and it's still very active

    I used to spend duck hunting weekends at Wingo at a friend's 'cabin. Great boyhood memories.
    Wingo was used by market hunters in the early 1900s, they'd shoot hundreds of ducks and sell them to the hotels in San Francisco.

      That's awesome that you were able to experience that. I had no idea that it was used by market hunters. I love when people leave comments about these places because there are a lot of facts that aren't in the history books/articles

    Went out here spring of 2020 with a couple friends, a couple of modern houses are built behind the town and it seems some families live there. Was exploring the buildings and a kid came up and told us it was all private property his family owned. Still an awesome hike and the walk alone is worth the trip

    • @nochillmustafa
      @nochillmustafa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the property is owned by the people that have the nice house adjacent to it but with some of the buildings being renovated, I wouldn't doubt someone purchased some of them.

      I heard the stories after we went 🤦‍♂️
      There is definitely people living in some of them. There are some that look like they have been somewhat remodeled, new doors, siding, decks etc that had "No Trespassing" signs. We didn't go near those, the only ones shown on here are the ones that had missing doors and were deteriorating

    Wingo is not a ghost town. The land is owned by the State of Califonia and the remaining cabins are leased to individuals. You are trespassing if you enter the cabins and wander around the surrounding area. The land to the immediate north of Wingo is State land and managed by CA. Department of Fish and Wildlife. The properties to the south are privately owned. Please respect the neighbors privacy. Thank you.

    How nice. I went out there way back in 2007 before railroad service was started again. However, my video camera was this ultra cheap piece of crap with terrible audio quality. Too bad you missed the dilapidated Southern Pacific Railroad swing bridge just a short distance to the north of the town. The history is connected with an early attempt at constructing a steam monorail from Wingo to Sonoma so that they had access to a steamboat to San Francisco. At the time I was there, a person lived in Wingo according to a nearby family.

    That oven is a keeper, I would haul that baby out and restore it. My friends family has one they have had in their family for generations and even brought it from LA to Sac when they moved. Think they are like 4k or something. Since this posted four years ago I'm assuming I'm not the first to have that idea though and it's already gone

      That place creeps me tf out! We used to go up there all the time before the main house burnt down and it was spooky . It’s still a creepy place despite the house no longer being there. And it’s even more disturbing that pretty much directly across on the other side of 101 is a memorial to plaque for Georgia Leah Moses. A 12 year old girl who was m*rdered and dumped there. They still haven’t solved that poor girls case.
