3:10 1947/8...either it was an amazing coincidence or most likely it was illegally looted (Japanese prints like this was rarely exported) by a British troop who was stationed in post WWII war devastated occupied Japan and pawned it to the antique shop after returning back to UK.
You are completely wrong. As stated in the video, thousands of these prints were literally used as packaging for the (at the time) far more valuable ceramics etc. being exported out of Japan to the West. Unless you think Vincent van Gogh went through a time machine to post-war Japan when he painted a copy of Hiroshige's print of a plum orchard in 1887?
I loved her expression at hearing the word "each." She seems really sweet-good for her on this amazing find!
I would have thought the value would be much higher. Very beautiful book and images.
I love Japanese woodblock prints. What an amazing book! Thank you for sharing. cheers P
So nice, such a sweet, unassuming lady.

No @@tcrime
I hope they weren't glued to the backing or the page they are on, would decrease the value.
That "backing" is the original book pages.
So who did the shop owner steal this from? She doesn't deserve that money. It should be returned to Japan
