      @@Shinzon23 Yeah, I'm definitely not going to China any time soon. It's locking down and becoming a dystopian surveillance state, but that's what makes this even more admirable. Because the Chinese people are held back so much, so for them to be able to go the extra mile for freedom is beautiful.

    ? So... not all parts of the great wall are connected, it's more of a network than a single wall, which makes sense given that this thing was built over many centuries, so sometimes stretches of wall were now in enemy territory and they needed to build a new stretch closer to home.
    A lot of parts are so dilapidated that you can't walk on it let alone run. Heck some parts you can't even climb on because at this point they're basically just heaps of loose rocks that will fall off if you try to climb it, and some parts are just entirely gone and then you're standing there with no way to get down to the ground and back up on the next wall part that you can see 50 meters away (been there done that). A lot of this sh!t was built on the tops of mountains. You don't want to be falling. And you aren't allowed on those extremely dilapidated parts, even the ones right next to tourist spots, though of course it's not that hard to just go anyways, I did too. But I wouldn't be showing evidence of me doing that on international news lol.
    So I'm confused about the logistics here.
    You didn't show a route, which, given that it's not a singular stretch of wall, means that there's no way to know which parts they're running. How do these guys sleep, eat, use the bathroom? With the size of those backpacks, no way there's more than a day worth of food and water in there, let alone a tent and spare clothes. Or do they just pick wall bits to run and then drive there every day?
    Dunno man this whole thing feels kinda sensationalized and misleading. It doesn't add up.

    • @loneranger9376
      @loneranger9376 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly, at least someone realises this is all hyped up. They have two vehicles offering support to them 24 hours a day, cooking for them for example. With the help of Google Earth and a GPS receiver, it is possible to map out and follow a route. However, Google Earth is blocked in China and there are also some other mapping software you can use which is not as good as Google Earth. You are correct to state that there is a network of Walls, I assume they are "running" along the Ming Wall. However, even with the Ming Wall, there are many different lines forked as well. There are many people in China who have walked along the whole Great Wall, not necessarily following the actual Wall because some parts are just too dangerous, inaccessible and now in Beijing, some parts are forbidden to go to.
      They would plan to sleep at a pre-determined please, some kind of town , maybe every 30-40km given that is how much they " run" everyday. This would mean there would be some back-tracking, some Wall sections are in military zones too so that needs to be avoided, some sections reaches rivers, for example the Yellow River with High cliffs. In Shaanxi, full of gullies and ravines- impossible to run there. As for the end point, is it Shanhaiguan or Dandong? No information at all. Some sections have completely be destroyed and disappeared, then would they run along that section. With regards to your question if they choose bits and drive there, there is plausibility, they need rest days too. His father's "feat" is even more ridiculous and hard to believe. They are very commercially-minded and good at PR and advertising. No doubt more books to come from them. And Lindesay, Kovalev A. Erdenebaatar D were the first to discover the Xi Xia Great Wall several years earlier than you.
