In her original studio recording of this song Cyndi needed falsetto to hit that crescendo note that Roy Orbison soared to effortlessly in his version. So she knocked me flat on April 5th in Dunedin when she nailed that same note in full voice. It sent a real shiver down my spine. It's not common for a singer to be singing better thirty years on, but Cyndi is in phenomenal vocal shape. She blew the roof off the stadium and I shifted from casual 80s listener to superfan in the space of one extraordinary note.

Saw this show in Auckland 2023. This particular performance was truly jaw-dropping. The highlight of the entire evening. Hands down beat anything Sir Rod did.

Its so weird to see all these stars of the 80's aged but in the same style as then, as if they never matured..being young and angry is one thing but being old and still as angry and expressing it through clothing tells me they havent worked out the issue. I mean even James Hatfield matured and changed.
