Wow....this is brilliant. Lastly heard this song in the early 90s. Thanks for preserving the memories of our hey days.

Zambian Music is amazing and needs to be preserved. Many records are only available on old beat up records with no master copies available anywhere. Zambia risks losing a significant part of its musical heritage if they aren't preserved. I'm glad I can help keep the music alive by sharing them on youtube!

I upload what I am able to source because I love Zambian music as much as I love Zambia. I strongly feel the country's musical legacy is sadly neglected. Zambians need to start trying to preserve these neglected recordings before it's too late and they disappear forever. Zambia has an amazing musical heritage that I think many young people don't fully realize exists.
Record collectors heavily use Discogs.com to keep track of their collections. Of Teal and Zambia Music Parlour's total singles, I estimate that about 40% of their Zambian catalogs have not been documented. The sub labels are just as bad. Neither Mwanawane Wezi nor Nthengwa are listed in Mr. Miyanda's discography on discogs. This means neither record has popped up on the collector market yet. I don't have the resources to find Zambian brokers to find me records so I'm stuck with what pops up on the collector market.
On the bright side, I do have one Miyanda Tumbuka record in pretty good shape, Mitala Part 1 has been uploaded before, but it was pretty beat up and lacked part 2. My copy is in much nicer shape. I'll upload both sides for you for my Tuesday upload next week.

How possible is it to get Bashimbwaloze by Greg Miyanda as well? It's such a nice one as well.

A lot of Zambian records have not entered the collector's market. I upload only what I've been able to get my hands on. The song you mention doesn't seem to be on discogs, which means it likely hasn't been sold on the collector market yet. I do not have any Zambian friends to find me records, so I'm stuck with what I can get through third party sellers.
