Tenerife is a beautiful Island, I am lucky to call it my home since 10 years ago. Pro tip for tourists who come to the Island: don't just bake in the sun the whole day, rent a car or something and explore the Island, you'll get so much more out of your vacation! :)
we are going next week with my brother :) we will rent a car. Have you some advice about any activites we shouldn't miss ? we will go to the teide by night (to watch starts) and we will also go to the Siam Park.
Siam park is amazing, You'll have a great time there! Here are some tips for the park; - You can get a cheap combo for siam park & loro parque (in the north). If you are planning to visit both, that dual pass is a great deal :) - Get there early because it's extremely crowded (especially in the summer months) and the chairs at the beach are taken really fast - Fast pass is available in the park but not worth the money to be honest (my opinion) - They have shaded areas but if you want to be sure not to be red like a lobster at the end of the day, put on sunscreen regularly, the sun is BURNING when you walk there all there :P Teide and the National Park around it (lots of movies have been shot there aswel like fast and furious 6, planets of the apes, etc...) is also a great sight. However, I'm not sure if driving in the mountains at night is a good idea. I remember that I did that once with friends (there are no lights at night and the roads are small and require you to be focussed), I told some locals the next day and they were pissed at me, calling me crazy! Apparently no locals go drive into the mountains when it's dark, I don't know if it's illegal but they'll call you crazy :P Some other beautiful towns and sights: 1. Masca Beautiful small town in a mountain gap. The drive to the town is spectacular aswel. The restaurant Chez Arlette is a great place for a smal snack, their terrace is said to have the most beautiful view out of Europe. It's a big monastery which is converted into many restaurants, each having their own specialty. It's owned by Germans and the meat is amazing. Very beautiful video, but I can see only the south of the island. Next time you should go to the north and enjoy its green landscape, forests and its beautiful towns.
