My elder brother owns a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE 250CDI which is basically a rebadged and face lifted version of ML since Merc had renamed their nomenclature of SUVs circa 2015. He has driven it for almost 150k kms which includes a majority of expressway running and even sustained engine running for 20+hrs(since he often deals with clients in the car too) As much as I wish to drive it I couldn't since the car is hardly sitting idle and almost daily used by my uncle and brother but I must say it has held up pretty well considering its harsh usage. Whenever he gets time I ask about the car, he still likes it but even he complains about the expensive service costs even by luxury car standards and post 100k regular service costs set him about 60-75k rupees from ASC apart from that several parts are directly replaced even if they could be repaired and therefore he has to shell out almost 1L per service So all in all you need to keep aside 4L per year for maintenance apart from fuel,insurance etc. He can afford it but still feels it expensive so anyone looking to buy these cars please keep this in mind since older luxury cars require good maintenance and you need to have deep pockets for it, even I was getting a mouthwatering deal for an Audi A6 3.0TDi Quattro but after getting knowledge about its air suspension I just walked away from it, I'm not that rich(yet) to spend so much on maintenance and I would only buy a luxury car only if I could afford it first hand since I know I would be able to maintain it as well. PS- You were right, this ML is equipped with 7G Tronic torque converter gearbox paired with 2.2L CDI

Recently I purchased rapid Dsg Check service record Battery is new or it is in warranty Bcz these polo vento rapid battery gets discharge v early I got my rapid with new battery service from company

I have a GLC 220d 2019 , the only problem I have is that the brake bite of the car is not sufficient, which breaks the confidence of the driver, whether BMW s and Audi s have great brakes as far I had experienced.
These cars are a gem, I wonder what will happen to these IC engine cars 3-4 years from now, cause even I have pledged that the next car we purchase that is after 2-3 years will be an electric car that is for sure cause our running is extreme even within the city

Effective life left for 2014 diesel model is about 5 years. If someone buy it at Rs 25 Lakh even then effective ownership cost is 5 lakh per annum. Monthly Cost = Rs 41666/- per month. Daily Cost = Rs 1388/- . I think this Merc will not be an worth buy to own. better buy brand new VW virtus for rs 20 lakh and daily ownership cost will be Rs 370/- only with peace of mind.

In Punjab, we can re-register but I agree that it is not ideal to put money on a Diesel car. That is why I personally bought Slavia for 15 lacs :)
