Adding the Nervegear to Our Sword Art Online VR Project | Devlog #1

- Hello again! In this update, we added the NerveGear to our game, made Kirito's room, and many more things to create the full intro for our project. This is just the first version of the intro so we will be changing/adding things in the future! Right now we are also working on making the interaction menu work again and doing some VFX stuff, so make sure you stick around for the next update!

I have been searching the internet for months! and the closest ive found hasbeen the Vrchat world. which has made an amazing job. but to see the amount of effort your putting into this is insane. good job. cant wait to see more

But I was wondering if you have a plan, what the game should become in the end (game mechanics, progression system, world structure, game activities, etc.)? Or is your goal to try to create an MMO by copying as much as possible from the anime? Either way, I wish you luck and will be watching the development of your project with interest. Currently, we are not really sure how far we will go with this project. We are only with the two of us, so there is only that much we can create in x amount of time.
This is also a hobby project, so as long as there is motivation to keep going then we will keep going! One of the ways our motivation goes up is by you guys who are showing their interest in this project!
Our goal, for now, would be to recreate the first episode of SAO. I think this is a sequence that pretty much everyone knows out of their head and we want to make it possible for everyone to experience it firsthand.
@@bewcus I understand. It's not easy to work on such a big project with such a small team. But I believe, if you go slowly but surely, you can achieve good results. Maybe if you created a community where people could help with creating assets, code, or just support financially, it would be easier for you. I noticed that the new demo didn't show you using your hands but instead you used controllers. So I wondered if you guys decided to scrap the hand tracking feature or if that would come back later? Also are you guys aiming for a pc VR game or standalone app for the quest?
That is still a feature we will be working on.
We are however still considering if using a leap motion will be useful enough to implement due to the limited number of people who own this device.
So support for that might be added, or we will just continue for the support of the knuckles finger tracking and the other VR controllers.
also what is the anime shader you use and is it free

SO COOL please make it multiplayer where you could fight each other with a open world exprience with constent updates and mini event and like theyre could be a trading system and you could do dungeons and make guilds also you spawn in with a random skill like dual handling or something random this might be too much but please give it a over look also make a discord server please

instead of kirito's room have is be ar passthrough so you have the nerve gear in your room so it is less like sword art online but its in vr and more like you are playing sword art online
Cool idea! Not sure if that is feasible with most of the VR devices, but maybe in the future!
definitely for quest, if its standalone. if it is on quest, i think you should have kiritos room as a backup if passthrough isnt available.@@bewcus
the typing thing looks kinda akward, maybe little less sensivity when keyboard is ON.
