Thanks so much for doing these videos Farmer Klein for those of us new to the mod. I just had my introduction to the FS franchise in FS17 and played pretty briefly. Really enjoying FS19 and its many mods as well as making friends throughout the FS community. Will be trying this on a brand new map in the near future and will be using these videos constantly as a reference. Thanks again.
Great Video, thanks for the great presentation. So many of these vids don't prepare, or even know what they are doing. Nice to see you had all your machines ready and no searching for your items as they were all ready for you to do your job. I've been using this mod for years, and still learned a few things from you.

I really enjoyed the video because it was very informative. It was the little things that you described that made it easier for me and others to understand. With that being said, there has been some changes to the game like updates. There still seems to be some bugs with the CP but I don't know if that's a user error, or if something isn't working right with the game. Again, great vid, and have already sub'd and liked. Hi. Thanks for the video. I expected to learn about doing more in Courseplay than the basic workers. I'll look for your other videos for that. Also i noticed twice the cultivator going wrong - it repeated paths that were already cultivated.
Courseplay is to complex to cover all of it in a single video so jumping to the complex things with out then the basics can be confusing. depending on the course settings it can be that at the start or end of a course the paths overlap.
For any1 that is new to courseplay in fs19 they have moved the course generation function to the 2nd mode from the left. The button with the play,stop,pause and record button. This is with an updated version. It took me a while before i did found it after the update so dont panic if u cant access the "squigly lines"
Good video as usual FarmerKlein! All your videos are quite detailed and clear. That video brought me a question. Would it work on field created by the user? A good example is the map No Man Land, where the fields will be created by the player. How would you select the field?
for me everything works fine except from that after setting up all, the machine doesn't move, I tried differents machines, mods, maps and fields, and it doesnt work

Hello mate :) And thank you so much for your tutorials. Have started to use courseplay after seeing your videos and love It. Only one thing me and some other guys on FB that has the same problem can't figure out. When we change the offset ether in horizontal or vertical or pressing the calculator the offset line appears off the widt behind the inclement I,m using, but somehow the line wont dissappear after so have to go out of the game to remove it. I understand It normally should go away by itself after some seconds but this doesnt happen to me and some other guys who has the same problem. Tried google and in here to troubleshoot the problem but can't find anything. Hope that maybe you could help us out here :) Many thanks again for all the videos ;)

Right now I think I have heard that courseplay is not recognizing AI traffic properly and I was not able to do a transport course for say a farm to store loop with a wait point at the store. the corseplay driver just blew past the wait point back to the farm. That is listed as a known issue right now. I also tried ot setup a sell grain course and it did not pause to fill the trailer. My first video was going to actually be basic transport courses like farm to store and selling grain. when I saw those didn't work I fell back to the basic field work. Its early so expect more stuff to not work than does work. update often and keep an eye on the known issues area of their github. it will aid in the frustration control when you realize others cant get something to work and its not just you.
It appears that the first (old) way of setting up a fieldwork session has disappeared in CP and the way to get to the new method has changed a little. Mayby you can make an update on this video because it caused of trial and even more error to find this out.

Cool video, thanks! How would you set up expanded fields? also some implements need a wide end turn...can you make them skip to every other path then come back to fill the rest....sorta like real farmers do with gps. Thanks
Under the Control screen there is language that says AI Driver that i think is new. I dont recall seeing that before but overall I think they are still working to get past functionality working in 19 before doing anything new.
So I downloaded the newest Courseplay on Nov 15 2020. I went to seed potatoes on a field and the method at 8:32 seems to be gone :( is it as a different spot or have to do it old school way again?
Kinda need an update on that as the rest of these videos in this 6 video line up seem to rely on that...like the moving one. I would prefer the GUI way more.
Paul I am sorry these videos didnt help you. I have stopped using courseplay it just became to frustrating to me as I looked back at how well it worked in 17. I felt like my grandparents talking about how good the old times where.

But still gonna use your ...in combo with others to see if I can kinda force it to do the things I seen you doing in these. So do you have any course play substitutes then? I have GPS also that seems to work wonders too
@@pleighto77 i use GPS for the purpose of helping with keeping straight rows and skipping lanes but aside from that if I'm not doing the work its an ingame helper. I play on a smaller scale and don't feel I need a bunch of workers doing things. Follow me is a good one also its rather handy although I don't know when I used that last myself.
I did exactly what you did, but you must be using a very old version of CP because none of that is in the window of field work on my one and I downloaded the latest one.
I used Courseplay regularly in FS17 and understand most commands, but I cannot get this to work with Stevies latest map. The HUD will not display and when I hit the tilde ~ key the log shows a listing of my fruitTypes that goes on forever. Weird.
I know im very late as usual but when i go into the little swiggy line to thwere for you it says generate course its not there for me, ive tired deleting and redownloading but i still dont have what you had, any help would be appreciated!
They redesigned the interface a bit since this video. It's one one of the earlier tabs now and be sure you have the right work mode set like fieldwork or sowing and fert
can you please do one for the updated ui because this is really hard to follow. also you should do it on a mod map like say lone oak field 42 😅 or something challenging so its more adaptable.
I am setting mine up step by step following along with you, however once I click “drive course” the vehicle will move forward like 2 meters and then stop or won’t move forward at all. Then nothing happens. Have you had this issue ? Thanks.
The only thing I can get it to do is off load Harvesters.. tried useing it in field work mode with a loading wagon to pick up windrows, and go dump at silo. But it just drivers right by the silo without dumping... Help Please.
The setup after I downloaded courseplay is a little different. I knew how to do it on fs17 and it was set up just like yours. Mine is not the same and I followed your download and install video
Is it possible to get the hired help go in circular motion like going through the perimeter of the field rather than just two and fro? Never used it before in fs17 found it too confusing. But sadly when i downloaded n loaded up the save game was just stuck on loading fr a long long time n never loaded up. Any idea why? Had to alt f4 out of the game sadly.
Zuhair Ali if you get stuck on loading that says you have a mod installed that conflicts with Courseplay. You’ll have trial and error disable mods until you find out which is the culprit.
having issues using CP to unload my combine on ravenport...got the latest from github..tried the hired helper to harvest and still cant get CP to unload and transfer to my silo..wont pick up the combine,just waits at the start point...tried everything but a different map
have not tried it yet but in the tractor when you have courseplay up there should be a harvester icon. pick that and instead of doing auto select pick the harvester manually see if that helps. This is something I hope to test and if its working do a video on this weekend.
How can i fix problem when i generate path and then worker is losing a bit of work at start and at the end of a line? Like he's lowering the tool too late and getting it up too early?
For me Harvesters work fine, unless I let them get full then Courseplay glitches out and folds the harvester header and harvester and then I'm screwed as can't unfold the pipe to empty it. Ploughing and Cultivating seem okay from the tests I've done. Seeding and Fertilising for me are issues. They'll do the first row of a field but instead of turning and doing the next row, they turn to face exactly West and just drive constantly in that direction until they hit something. Also Fertiliser/Lime Spreaders the Courseplay seems to start them well before the field edge, drive very slowly for several metres into the field before accelerating the vehicle to the max speed. Then at the end of the field they switch off the fertiliser/lime well short of the field edge but again after a period where they've slowed right down to a crawl and are clearly wasting a lot of fertiliser/lime in this period.
no you can save the course then next time you just pull up the course and start. its not that much really once you do it a few times. coming from console I can see where it would be a bit overwhelming at first for sure compared to the normal hired helper but the possibilities are vast for automation.
most likely yes. if you go into the advanced course generator and click on a field that is on land you own and setup a simple up and down course does it draw the lines at all? you many need to define the outside of each owned field bu driving a simple course which is the outside path around the field. then use that to build a course like I did in the grass work video.

You version of course play is very different to the one I have how can that be. You select the box and it says course generation. Mine says mode specific setting .. COMPLETELY different.
As someone who rarely combines fields I do not have much personal experience but I would suspect you would need to create a new field boundary definition for the newly created larger field

In the first how to I provide a link to the github site. Can not get any more safe than to get it directly from the developers. I would never suggest getting courseplay from anywhere other than directly form the developers github until they release it on the giants mod hub. That will be quite a while before that happens though.
Thanks for this...appreciate the guide, but can't help but point this out. If you're explaining that we "you'll use this other method for fertilizing", when you're currently showing us how to seed, its not then necessary to then point out all the tools we'd use were we actually fertilizing. Just if you look through this video, there's a LOT of unnecessary verbiage that doesn't seem to add much to the point at hand. Sorry, its just been a major pain trying to find concise how-tos for this game and you're so close@@
you dont need CP for field work like this. just hire a worker and it works fine. what pisses me off is, unlike fs17 when you just hired a worker in a harvester and courseplayed the combi unload mode and it worked fine, you now have to generate a course for both the harvester AND the offloader/grain bin. why both? what was wrong with how it was before? its too complicated and it doesnt even work most of the time. shit program i dont know what the coders have been smoking

Best thing for Course Play is AI working an irregular shaped field. Thanks I have used CP a lot on 17 and still learned something from this vid.

I have not used the offset for quite a long time but would suggest getting the latest version to be sure it want some sort of bug in what you have.

Sounds like you didnt put it into the field work mode.

Course play came out on modhub, expect increase traffic.

That's coyrseplay. No fixing it unless the developers change how it calculates when to raise and drop an implement.

I am new to course play but I want to use now the automated case is out
and in newer version the Course generation doesnt even show up
Console player here. This looks REALLY complicated. Do you have to go through all this every time you work a field??

I’ve started using the courseplay mod And every now and then the game freezes could it be the mod that’s causing the issue or my computer?
It has to be the courseplay because it happened to me a 3rd time So I tried without it and nothing happened it was all smooth
Look for a possible clue in the log.txt in the same folder as your mod folderband save games.
when i press Drive Course it just doesnt move at all the course is generated but it just doesnt do anything

Take .zip off the end of the name and see if it shows up for you then.
Well it be released for console or is it for pc only?
Courseplay? PC only. THe trend is that mods that have scripts in them do not make their way to consoles and courseplay is nothing but scripts.

I'm sorry I have all but stopped using CP. I found it way to unpredictable in many of its programming over the last several months.

I don't have an option for field edge. Why are none of these mods the same for me as they are for other people. I'm about done with this game

concise is not my goal. being as complete as I can is the goal.
you dont need CP for field work like this. just hire a worker and it works fine. what pisses me off is, unlike fs17 when you just hired a worker in a harvester and courseplayed the combi unload mode and it worked fine, you now have to generate a course for both the harvester AND the offloader/grain bin. why both? what was wrong with how it was before? its too complicated and it doesnt even work most of the time. shit program i dont know what the coders have been smoking
Yes courseplay has gone down hill IMO also.
Thanks for the info video I'm new to FS19. The old way of setting up a fieldwork has disappeared (menu names have even changed) and new method has changed too. Can you plz update this video. Had to use trial and even more error to not figure it out.
none of my settings show up in the course play menu, is there a way to fix that?
