- My buddy, Kurt, invited me to his incredible home and home tiki bar. It's actually kinda hard to say where his tiki bar ends and his home begins... Kurt embodies the tiki, surf, and punk rock scenes.

This cocktail comes from Trader Vic's by way of the Raffle's Hotel in Singapore. It is the origin of the legendary Singapore Sling.
To make the the drink in the video you will need:

1/2oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
1 dash Angostura Bitters
1oz Cherry Heering
2oz Old Tom Gin
Ginger Beer
Benedictine
--------------------------------------
Squeeze lime juice into tall footed highball glass filled with ice cubes; save the shell. Add bitters, Cherry Heering, and gin.
Fill glass with ginger beer. Stir. Add float of Benedictine.
Decorate with spent lime shell, fresh mint, and a stirrer.

I've done peanuts in a cocktail before. The BBQ Bible has a recipe for a peanut punch in it that really livelies itself up with the addition of rum and some bubbly water standing in for the still stuff.

It's weird, sometimes my camera looks really good and sometimes it doesn't. I don't really change my settings either... it's always been two Fuji X-T3s. The B camera lens is always sharper. 😵💫

I have the same pirate ship print that Kurt has there next to his LP collection on that rattan shelf. I don't know anything about it...is there a story there?
I don't know... maybe Kurt can weigh in on that.
It's a drip painting that was popular in the late 60's and availible at most retail stores back then, it's also a light up painting although the Christmas lights behind are burned out currently. I became obseesed with the light up paintings from the 60's after seeing a Carlos lighted print in one of David Lynch's episodes of the original Twin Peaks series. Lynch always had rad vintage pieces in his sets!

Unfortunately Goslings isn't real Ginger Beer. Your only options are Bundaberg, Reeds, or Fever Tree. Reeds is crisp and bright for Tiki drink recipes
