We were at Grindelwald two weeks ago. We were there for eight nights. I wish I have tried you guys' cafe recommendations. Well... Grindelwald is a lovely destination. It's a great base for our adventures in the higher mountains. We picked it after watching you guy's video on where to stay at the Interlaken region. We'll be back! Thanks guys!
We are actually here in Grindelwald right now! Planned the trip with heavy reliance on your awesome videos. The activities up at Pfingstegg was awesome fun and while not mentioned on this video, we walked the 30mins to the Glacier Canyon which was well worth the entry price. The hike out to Bachalpsee is also a must do for anyone heading up to First. It’s magical. In short, I cant thank you guys enough for your videos. This place is simply breathtaking. It is a dream come true for us having come all the way from Australia. 🦘🇦🇺✌🏼
Fantastic! We include those places in our 3-Day Guide to Grindelwald and of course other videos. So many great things to do 😊 Enjoy the rest of your special trip!!!
Ooh, we are heading there in April25, staying in Lucerne maybe 3 days then maybe 5-7 days in Grindelwald. This will be at end of out trip, starting in London, then France. Would love to know whether you just stayed in the BO area or other parts of Switzerland.
Just got back from Grindelwald, two of the recommended cafes were closed on holiday, but we did do some hiking and enjoyed others things through the guides and videos we watched, had a great time.
Wonderful! Yep, unfortunately some places close for a few weeks during peak season so they can go on their own holidays, but so glad you still enjoyed your time! 😊
Another great video. I wrapped up my trip to that area yesterday. Went to Zermatt first. Couldn’t believe how cold I was in the glacier at the Matterhorn glacier Paradise. Surprisingly bumped into a woman that I spoke with on my flight to Geneva in the chocolate shop in town. But being a car guy who likes to drive, yesterday, I drove through as many mountain passes as I could. Susten Pass Furka Pass Grimsel Pass Glaubenberg Pass The motorcycle riders are crazy death defying people. But I had amazing weather and terrific views. Thanks for encouraging the interest in Switzerland, which I would’ve never had.
Sounds like you had a great trip!! Isn’t it amazing when you run into the same travelers in multiple places?!? And we’ve rented a car a few times in Switzerland and Brett also loves driving those mountain passes! We’re always amazed at the cyclists who ride up 🚲! Thanks for sharing our love of Switzerland. We hope you return again one day! 😊
I think I saw Jana from the train at wilderswill station heading to grindlewald at 9:40 today ( 13/07/2024). Would have liked to say hello!! Thanks for all the guidance through your channel!
Hello from Pennsylvania Our family will be in Grindelwald in two weeks. I watched most of your videos and very informative. I'm definitely taking the family to lake Oeschinen. You folks take care and maybe I'll see ya at the eiger bean for coffee, your buying !!! 😁
Questions 🤚🏼 . Is it safe to wander around the paths in Switzerland for a solo traveler. Also what should we do about ticks and other critters when on a hike or on a picnic.
This area of Switzerland is very safe! Even Jana goes out on lesser known trails and feels safe. You can use bug/tick spray, but we’ve lived here for 3 summers and have never had a tick (although we always check as soon as we get home just to be safe). And mosquitoes loveeee Jana but we really don’t have them in this area! (Thankfully!)
Hi there! You can find addresses and map pins for all of these spots on our blog post here: aplinsinthealps.com/14-cheap-and-free-things-to-do-in-grindelwald-switzerland/ Enjoy!
Another great video, thanks ! I was exactly thinking that Pfinstegg might end up being a better choice than First for us since we will have only a single day in Grindelwald and I would hate wasting hours in line. Our other activity for that day will be the Mannlichen plus maybe the canyon but with 3 kids everything takes forever so probably won't happen 😂 Thanks again and man I would love to stumble upon you guys filming !!! 😂
That sounds like a great plan for a day in this area! Especially for Mannlichen views and Pfingstegg fun 🙃 the Canyon is near-ish to Pfingstegg so maybe you can squeeze it in. If you see us, feel free to stop and say hi!!
Hi there! It's doable, especially since the cable car stations are just a 5-minute walk from one another. But keep in mind that you can find yourself standing in lines all day if you try to do a few activities at Grindelwald First. Hope you have fun!
Great video about one of my favourite places on earth. I’m desperate to find a farm fridge next time we are there. My kids loved Pffinstegg and the play area when we last went and we have lots of photos from the viewpoint with the family :) A top tip is the crazy golf as well for families (and the outside pool as well with an epic slide!) Can I be pedantic - the “cathedral” that you mention is actually an “evangelical reformed church” and is a Protestant church. As far as I can work out, these churches have a “Presbyterian-synodal” government which means that they don’t have bishops (unlike catholic or Anglican/episcopal churches for instance) and therefore don’t have cathedrals (which are seats of bishops.) It’s a beautiful church though, although its main door that automatically opens when you walked past it freaked me out a bit!
There are soooo many farm fridges in the area once you get outside of the town - you guys would love them! And yeah, Pfingstegg is such a great place for families 😊 You’re right about the church being a reformed state church. I’m never quite sure what to call the buildings since church doesn’t seem appropriate for such a lovely place! 🤩
We just spent 2 weeks in Interlaken and went to some great coffee places you highlighted. As far as dinner is concerned, nit much appealed until we found Ristorante Citta Vecchia in Unterseen. We literally at their every night . The Lasagna and eggplant parm and pizza and desserts were all amazing. Emanuel became my friend and we will be going back for the beauty and their food. Maybe some shows to highlight great specialized restaurants. Thanks again ! Ken

This video is so helpful! Please consider making more videos like this for other locations too such as Interlaken, thank you very much.
Thank you! We actually already have a cheap and free video in Interlaken 😊 And Lucerne as well - you can search for those on our channel!
The first thing made me smile: it's when Brett set with that statue😂😂
🤣 So glad we can make you laugh!! He’s always so funny!
Amazing. Place thank you for sharing this information ❤❤
You’re so welcome! 😊
Thanks for the informative videos on Grindelwald! I would be there this coming mid- November. Any meet the fans sessions available 🤣
Your trip isn't too far away! We don't have any meet-ups planned, but if you see us while you're out and about, please stop us and say hello!

@@AplinsintheAlps thank you! I hear so much stuff about Europe being dangerous and what not
Of course, anything can happen, but we generally feel safer all over Europe than in most American cities unfortunately :(
hi we have a upcoming trip , can you drop the name of the places outside the village show in the video. thank you

OMG....we did saw you guys shoot in the Qraftwerk bakery when we were visiting Grindelwald in late May.
That was us! 😊 You should have said hi!
I was searching inexpensive places to stay in Grinderward and saw your wonderful video. Any recommendations for hotels or apartments? TIA
We personally love and use HotelCard! hotelcard.ch/en/aplins But otherwise we don’t have specific recommendations for places to stay.
Another great video, thanks !

Do i have time or will it be rushing if i go Grindelwald First and pfingstegg afterwards in a day.

Staying in Murren also gets the Grindelwald’s guest pass?
Nope, Murren has it's own Guest Card. You only get the Grindelwald Guest Card when you stay in Grindelwald.
Thank you ❤

Can Grindelwald town be reached by car?
Yes, the village can be reached by car or train!
For anyone following this account and may know or have recommendations - where in Grindelwald would one buy distilled water? Grocery store? Pharmacy?
You can easily find this at the grocery store! We've bought it before :)
Hello which month you take this video please reply
Hi! We recorded this one at the end of May.
So fun you went to Citta Vecchia so many times and made friends with the owner! We plan to do a restaurant video at some point. So many video ideas!!
Does anyone do tours here
We have a contact who offers tours. Email us if you're interested to book with her! www.aplinsinthealps.com/contact
i heard the cable car ride cost 100 euros good lord
It depends on the specific ride, and some are definitely more expensive than others. Another reason why a train pass can be so useful!!
Dont have any kids
There are plenty of activities to enjoy here with or without kids!
