Home movie style of a flight with my friend Jim Baker to Key West for a day of fun. Join us to enjoy the sights and sounds of our journey in the Velocity aircraft.
you probably dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend recently xD
Great video and the plane is very “SpaceX” in design! Not a pilot so it’s a dumb question I’m sure, but why in 2021 does the over the air Radio communications sounds all garbled and choppy? It doesn’t sound any better then what I’ve heard 10 or 20 years ago.
No worse than some certificated planes like the MU-2, although that's not exactly a shining example of a plane known for good flying characteristics. It's not "unsafe" but it's unnerving, that and the canard design is more efficient but also gets tossed around a bit more in the wind. It also has no real rudder. Rutan himself went to hybrid designs employing a smaller canard and a smaller traditional tail to get the best of both worlds in his later designs. Pure canard designs work great from an efficiency standpoint, but there are compromises like the lack of flaps resulting in approach speeds higher than a lot of turboprops.
Thanx for sharing, nice canard flying
Love that concentration short final 👌👌 top notch aviation video!
Great video guys! Great editing, enjoyed the music selection, loved all the camera angles. Can’t wait to see the next one!
Curious how you were going through clouds when not on an IFR flight plan????
And it wasn't Marco Is. That they took off from in the video.
Bozo,s on board- give,m a wide berth..........
7:32 One of, if not the best ATCS I know!
I also just made this flight in my RV. I would love to have a Velocity.

@Jaxtyn Bridger Definitely, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself :D

Because radio communication is using 1920s radio technology.
What size is that engine you are running?
Haha Seriously, 7,500' (VFR Alt) and flying through the clouds THEN posts it to TH-cam.
Bozo,s .....
Wow these planes really have weak aileron authority at low speeds, pretty scary.
Not really, but "low speeds" is a relative term. I've flown canards for years and have never had low speed aileron authority.

What is minimum runway length for the velocity, 4k or so?
